Keep your stuff from lava death.

Today I was in the nether and a pigman pushed me into lava I could not do /back because I typed it wrong. I lost a inf 1 pow 3 and punch 1 and a pick axe  with efi 3 unbreak 3 and fortune 2. You keep items from fire so why not lava? ok time to tell the whole story, my friend was in the nether agitating pigman. he fell in lava and said there should be deathcontrol for everything. he wanted me to post that but i was like no, its a survival server. so he finallygot me down to posting this so please lock it. thanks

If we added lava death keeping your items, we will lose more and more aspects of a survival server. The reason for fire death is so you can jump out of the lava quickly, and then save your items from being burnt.

Seriously? This is a large thing that bugs me on this server.. People complain about dying all the time. This is a survival server, you survive.. Like I've moaned and groaned about multiple times before, most deaths have already been nerfed and it's silly to even ask for more, especially with a story such as "a pigman pushed me in to lava". 1. That's your fault for aggravating the pigman. 2. That's your fault for miss-typing the get-away command. 3. You should've went to the nether prepared. Everyone is aware of the dangers in that world.

I have the same feeling on PVP. Like, whats the real fun of PVP anymore, apart from that you can go and kill people? There is no prize at the end of it to say "Yes! I DID kill that person!"

Exactly, it's just wear and tear on your items. Fair enough, it's my fault for going in the PVP arena, but c'mon, you should get some sort of reward/bounty.

If we are going to protect everyone from losing their items from deaths, everyone may as well have godmode.
Survival is survival. It's not the server's fault for people's deaths. You win some, you lose some.

Also the idea of rewards in pvp would be nice, but would probably be abused.

There's plugins that work with the economic money system. When you kill someone in pvp a small amount of money is deducted from the loser's balance and placed in the killer's balance.

Oh that works, but may discourage some pvpers, especially any newcomers.

When i go to nether or mining world,l i take fire protection 2 and instant health 2 potion.

if your going to the nether, just bring regular stuff (maybe multiple pickaxes) so its not such a big lost if you die.

I guess your right and I will be more careful and truth be told I don't really care about there being a lava death control so I just started a 10 comment board  :D

Full set of dia armour with protection III, two diamond pickaxes(one with UnbreakingIII, EfficiencyIV, FortuneIII and the other with UnbreakingIII, EfficiencyIV, Silk touch I), a diamond shovel with UnbreakingIII, EfficiencyIV, Silk touch I, a diamond axe with UnbreakingIII, EfficiencyIV, 64 cookies, 3 stacks of diamond, a stack of emerald and a nether star.

All gone by a blink of an eye from lava... Do you know what I done after that? I nearly broke my monitor, that's what I done lol.

Unfortunately you won't keep your items if you die in lava for as others have said, this is survival. As for all of you who are suggesting we remove the PvP death item protection, it was you all (Noobstown community) who suggested players keep their items in the first place. If I remember correctly, there were very few people who disagreed at the time. If you do feel that strongly about it, try thinking of suggestions. Say, even I think a type of bounty system would be cool!

There are also plugins that allow you to collect the heads of players you kill. They are like zombie heads but have the players skin and name. It would be very amusing to have a wall of heads. The money idea probably fits this server better though.

Offtop. Players heads from pvp nice idea. Like ears in diablo 1, but placing heads currently  disabled on server ( I dont need money from pvp i need HUGE wall of heads in my tower )))

Yes, I was sad about meh cookehs. They very important to me, even more important than the rest of my stuff.. I will remember you my friends.
