I believe that we should be able to declare our sex if we want to and marry some one of a different sex in game other servers have this mod/option and I think it would be great
If you need to MSG any questions/comments my in game name is sombrerodude

One's gender is specified in their forum profile. For those who think it's too personal, there's an option to not specify it.

Ohh, in-game relationships. -_-

EDIT: To be more detailed, go to "Community" and click "Members." Here you can "Search for Members," and clicking on their name will bring up their profile and information.

There have been several in-game weddings as far as I've heard/seen. There are even screenshots somewhere in the forums.

I want it to be put on the actual server so ever body can see and you can have a mc relationship

Pluse some people don't go on the website as often it just makes it an easer way to tell if you are a boy or a girl

This sounds like a good idea however I'm concerned about the maturity level on this if it were to happen like friends might be "cute" and marry each other so that's my only concern

It's already been proven on the server multiple times that marriage is not a good thing for this server. People have been "married" on this server before within their towns and such (Not by a plugin) and almost within a few days they get into a fight and "break up" and both participants are angry with each other and upset as well. Usually over simple things from what I remember, like "Oh she wanted to move in" or "He wanted to move my things in my house to how he wanted them".

It's not a necessity to have a plugin devoted only to marriage and such, there have been enough problems from people jumping into "marriage" by themselves without the help of a plugin to make it more "official". We've had a lot of marriages at one point in time, and almost within the week they were all divorced. So from what I can see, we'd only have people getting "married" with this plugin, and then dropping said "marriage" within the week, because they decided they no longer wanted it.

If you don't even know if someone is female/male without the help of a serverplugin than you honestly shouldn't marry her/him. Even if you are just playing the marriage you should at least know your partner ingame well enough to have that simple information.

If you for some reason want people to know what you are ingame simply choose a skin that is obvious; as an example look at mine or waterworths face here in the forum and ingame, that should be pretty obvious unless you believe in the carnivals bearded lady.

There is also the problem that some parents might find it inappropriate that the familyserver their kid daughter is playing on encourages her to "marry" some unknown guy (even if it's just a game there are creepy folks out there). So the server should never make that part of the program.

And the maturity? Well, honestly the idea of ingame marriage is mostly appealing to 2 groups:
- pairs that already are together in the real world (although they rarely need to play that ingame so they certainly do NOT need an added feature for that)
- kids which hardly know anything about real marriage and often only get into some emotional drama when playing these things together. As Twisted said it happened again and again on the server, and it always were people who considered themselfes mature. And it mostly resulted in 2 things, more work for the mods to calm that down again and both arguing divorcees landing on a lot of ignorelist in chat for taking it out in globalchat.
So, the potential for trouble is bigger than the advantage and the basic need for somethin like that.

I wouldn't say bad, just not suitable for this game and this server. Other servers and games (roleplaygames for example) are more suited for that.

This is a bad idea. We don't need small children that play on our server learning about this stuff.

What do you mean about "this stuff"? Marriage in a game doesn't need to involve any adult gesture/actions such as ERP which I wont even explain because I'd probably get in trouble. Getting married in a nutshell involves two people deciding to be with eachother for the rest of their days. I'm not for getting married in a game, I'm more against it than anything because I feel it's silly and not for this type of server (Family and friend-based survival).

Then explain to me why you made two particular topics trying to prevent losing things from two deaths?
