/shop ability to sell stone
« on: 13 Feb 2014, 04:50:57 »
As the official forum for this is locked I would like to propose the possibility to have the ability to sell normal stone to the /shop as well as cobblestone. The reason why is because I have been receiving notably less usable picks from enchanting, I would love to use the silk touch efficiency 3 unbreaking 3 pickaxe but if I do then it cuts right into my main source of money as a miner which is cobblestone. I don't even care if the price is greater than cobble stone, I would happily sell for the same 192 (I think) per 64 blocks if it meant I had more picks at my disposal.

It would boost the economy, because players that would like to sell stone for other players, will raise the prices of it.

If you want to sell stone, place it and use a non-silktouch pickaxe to mine it back up, thus you have cobble to sell! :D Or auction it; I'm sure some people won't want to go through the effort of smelting it. Or even store it and save it for future builds; smooth stone is required for a large number of crafting recipes for some nice blocks/items. Or the best tip: don't use a silk touch pickaxe if you're trying to make money from stone!

I agree and disagree.
Seems at this point with the /shop being so limited and no one is buying anything because we all just want to fill our bank accounts, Noobs are incredibly difficult to make unless you are strictly aiming for the basic blocks.
I personally miss being able to sell Wood to the server shop.

Finally someone that thinks the same as me  :D

I understand the problem of having an inventory full of stone that you can't easily get rid of without wasting noobz and smooth stone should have at least double the value of cobble considering the costs of smelting or mantaining a Silk Touch pick.

Sooner or later everyone will be in that situation.

Placing down smooth stone to hit it with a pickaxe to turn it into cobble seems like a very pointless endeavor. Smooth stone is one of the things people haven't ravaged in the mining world yet, it's abundant and far easier to just walk a straight line sucking it up.

I'm in the same boat as the OP, my enchanted picks keep giving me silk touch and I just throw them on the auction house because I can't sell smooth stone to the shop so they're more in the way than anything else.
