Smart Movement is a mod for Minecraft that is 1.3.2 and SMP compatible, utilizing ModLoader and Player API, to allow the player much more mediums of movement:

-Grabbing onto ledges and shimmying across them
-Sprinting (separate from running or dashing)
-Sidestepping and backstepping
-Crawling and Sliding
-Charged Jumping
-Swan Diving
As well as new animations for flying, swimming and falling!

This mod is both simple and amazing, and I love it; I use it faithfully in SSP and it is simply delightful. I would LOVE To see this mod implemented into the NoobsCraft server!

~What do you guys think? Would you like to see this implemented as well?~

*Yep!
*Nope!
*Undecided

Thanks for your votes, and as always; Stay thirsty my friends.

As you said it is a mod which means it can't be implemented, only plugins can be added to the server, if the mod has been edited to act like a plugin then yes but Smart Movement is a copyrighted mod so I highly don't think it has.

As an example for you if you install the mod you should be able to see the animations it comes with, you can't climb 2 blocks and swim faster etc but the animations are there.

I'm sure I read something about 1.4 allowing server-side mods.

This mod does sound awesome, especially if it could tie in to the MCMMO plugin with the skill levels etc.

The mod may be SMP compatible, but if we were to have it, EVERYONE who is part of the server would need to have it for it to work.

We only add plugins which add more stability or change only a small aspect of the game. This, really, isn't needed. The answer will most likely be a no to getting it.

True about that, just like when I asked about the tree feller mod (1 hit trees), this would not work cause it is a mod not a plugin.

I see. Hmm... I just did a search and I see the difference between Mods and Plug-Ins now; This should help me to suggest better things in the future, should I have an idea of what would be an amazing feature for the server. Maybe we could find someone that would be willing to port Smart Movement into a plug-in so that it can be run on servers like ours? Wishful thinking never hurt anyone..

Still, it was a good try~

It wouldn't be possible to import something like Smart Movement mod because it changes minecraft's default animations, meaning that everyone's client would need to be adjusted to see them, making it a mod.
