I agree, It is very useful while mining at times, so having it available in the mining world would be nice.

I'd like it too. As long as damage is turned off by the explosions in case someone sneaks up behind a player and kills them.

I agree, even though i never visit the mining world, I think that tnt can be very useful at times. There are signs saying that it is probably not a good idea to build there.

I say no. It will easily be abused and will cause lag to members with ****py computers

There are always pros and cons to ideas like this. But saying that people will abuse it is unlikely. The only way possible that people could "abuse" it is if they blow up someone's house, which would most likely happen, but then said persons house that has been blown up would be in the wrong for building in the Mining World as there are warnings telling people NOT to build there.

nebih, I ask you, how else could they abuse it?

I think TNT should be allowed for mining only. It should be made so it can only blast everything besides players.

So in other words, you want player damage by TNT disabled? hmm... it takes away the danger and risk involved for using TNT, as while using TNT there should the danger of accidentally killing yourself :/ but yes, TNT damage should be disabled for Mining world if it is seen fit by the admins IF TNT is even allowed in the mining world :)

I just feel that if TnT is allowed in the mining world that there will be a lot of damage done to the mining world. If I was to place a stack of TnT not only would it create a ton of lag, but also would make a giant hole inside of the mining world :/ I like the idea but I dont think it will work

As i said, it is very fun and it would help with mining, just have like a 20-30 block radius protected from player/Entity damage

I think there should be TNT in the mining world as well. The mining world gets reset every month and you can't explode chest because of LWC. Overall I agree.

First off the lag it would cause. Normally we have around 50 people on the server at most points in time. Now imagine that at least half of these people are in the mining world. Even if only ten of these are it's still a horrible thing to think about. Now imagine that all of these people have bought many amounts of both sand and gunpowder (Which is incredibly easy to do, because everyone sells it. TNT at the moment isn't useful, so who wants to make it?)

Within an hour these people could set off incredible amounts of TNT all by themselves. And we all know that most people don't really care to do it one by one. They'd set a large amount of TNT and let it all go off at once. Now imagine multiple people at various times in the same few minutes doing it. See where I'm getting at this?

Now multiply this just few minutes by a full month. The mining world would hardly have anything left in it. It would probably not even last a week. Now that the border's so small and it only opens up slowly that means that the small amount of what's in the mining world would be blown up quickly, and every time more opens up the TNTers could quickly go and TNT up that area as well.

Let's move onto another horrible topic to consider. Griefers. We all know what amounts they go to to enjoy themselves. Now let's imagine them realizing that they can actually use TNT and blow up things in the mining world, not just player damage. Let's say a griefer has set a huge amount of TNT to go off around mining spawn, and they watch for new players to wander off. What happens next? BOOM. Players dying. Not exactly something we want.

And that's not even to mention those people that would use it just to kill the server. We've seen the lengths people will go to to cause issues. The spammers are nothing compared to people who realize that they can use a ton of TNT to destroy a large space at one time. Good griefers are known to wait and enter the culture before really causing a massive grief, so they'd wait their time before suddenly letting off so much TNT they could actually crash the server.

We've already experienced the server being lagged so much it crashed, back with OakHaven. The admins had to deal with the crashing and the lag and they were very upset by it. I wouldn't want this kind of thing to happen again, especially since it could be repeated multiple times by different people at various times.

This doesn't happen with mcmmo tnt. It was designed to do so. Blast mining, bigger bombs, etc. They are made to not cause lag or anything i think, thats why its in mcmmo.

Then make a limit of how many TNT blocks one person can place at any given time. Say 2-3 blocks of TNT would be enough for each person.

I voted "it doesn't matter to me." TNT would be fun to have, but also it would likely turn into a grief-fest.

Putting in something so that a person can only place X amount of TNT blocks at a time would be yet another plugin that would probably lag the server more. It would have to constantly keep track of how many TNT blocks each person that comes onto the server has, which would probably have to run all the time.

TnT is quite the expensive resource to make large quantities of, if you ask me.  Especially because there are no creeper dungeons so you would have to hunt a lot of creepers in the wild to have a dangerous amount.

It costs $2 to buy it from the main shop. And I know at least I always sell any that I dig up from the dirt or any that I get when I kill the odd creeper or two. So it wouldn't be all that hard to get it, in all honesty.

Sand you can easily dig up as well.

I have stacks and stacks of Sulfur from the Gravel, McMMO has the gravel drop sulfur, and I also have it since I have the fishing ability where you can just hit a creeper with the fishing rod and get the sulfur, and I can do that about 20 or more times on one creepers that that more than 20 sulfur per creeper I find.
