TreasureHunt Pluggin
« on: 5 Jan 2013, 02:41:01 »
I would like for a new pluggin to be added to Noobscraft called TreasureHunt. It is a pluggin where chests randomly spawn in the world of Noobscraft, and people have to find them. They contain random items based on the chest's rarity. There are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and LEGENDARY chests! The command /hunt, tells you how many blocks away you are, and you have to be the fasted player to get their first to unlock the chest and get the loot inside! Staff can select what the chances of chests being spawned are, and what the rarity of the chest is. I think this would be a great pluggin for Noobscraft.

Seems fun but VIP's would always win.

I wouldn't be the one sorting these things out, but VIP's could probably be excluded from this because of their permissions.

Well, that seems unfair. VIPs, Guests, Members, and Veterans are all equal. :L

While this is true, VIP's like yourself have certain permissions that would make the hunt easier for you. WAY easier. But let's keep on topic. The post is just asking people if they like the idea of the pluggin.

This plugin would get caught up with Towny and private wilderness homes. The chests would most-likely spawn in somebody's plot or on top of someone's home I assume so you've got a 50/50 chance of even getting to open the chest by the time you actually find it.. Right? o.O

Wrong. The treasure chests only spawn in underground caves, so no need to worry about that. Also, the /hunt command will tell you how many blocks away from the chest you are, so they are not difficult to find.

I'd say the whole world has been discovered already, this version of NoobsCraft has been out for many many months, some caves could be owned by towns or wildy people is what I'm saying.

Like I said, chests do not spawn in owned or used land. And I highly doubt people have found every cave in the world. They also spawn in ravines and dungeons, or any major opening underneath the ground.

Minecraftguy, I'm not deciding what would go for the VIP's. I'm sure the staff would think of a solution.

How about just having it spawn in the mining world that way they get reset and no ones is in possession of them

Then it would be pointless and just a waste of server memory. When the mining world resets, so do all the mineshafts, which as we all most likely know, have chests with loot.

So what makes it fun plus the mineshaft chest don't have lots of valuables

I agree. We could also put ones in the nether with nether loot. I think the /hunt command is op though

I have had experience with this plugin before, the /hunt command is indeed for OP's. For regular members, if you hit the floor with rotten flesh it will indicate how many blocks you are away from the treasure chest.

That would be great to have something to actually use rotten flesh for

I do think your idea is great, but I don't think that you can choose what items spawn in the chest, so the Nether thing would not work, although I hear that in the new patch for this pluggin, selectable items will be available. They actually might already be, but I am not sure. Also, the /hunt command is part of the pluggin. How else would you find the chests? They disappear every 30 minutes, and only 1 chest can spawn at a time.

To be honest I don't like the idea, it means everyone would be searching all the chests and if someone accidently left one unlocked then they'd get there stuff stolen. Plus how would you tell these chests apart?
