1.8 News Board

I have decided to create a thread with all or most of the upcoming 1.8 news. When you post on this thread make sure you know that the information is RELIABLE AND NOT FAKE. That means that if you find it on some random website that has nothing to do with gaming or minecraft, it could be fake.
Now the news:

In this picture you see a game-generated river. Notch has added rivers and will soon add game-generated waterfalls also. It looks really cool. He also added canyons and trench like things.

It's been said that there is to be a new biome, the "Mushroom biome", and it will contain giant mushrooms such as the one in that picture.

my dad banned miencraftwiki on my computer cause once when i went on the website my computer suddenly started saying there were viruses in it, not sure why

Well that's unfortunate, since it pretty much contains all the confirmed stuff to be released in 1.8, along with links for all the things they intend to put into the game in the future
