Minecraft Rendering!
« on: 3 Oct 2012, 20:14:44 »
Hey, lately I've been using a modeling program called Cinema4D, I'm soon hoping to start animating, but first I need to feel comfortable with the software so I've been doing just that. I've rendered out a couple minecraft scenes to practice with the rendering settings, I thought I'd add them here to show people :3 Here's the results:

Random Scene:

Diving From a Cliff, I accidentally clicked a glow feature on the water before rendering and my computer crashed right after it complete and I'm not going to bother setting it all up again because it's just a sample, nonetheless it looks alright:

Steve in action:

AirAce jumping towards creepers:

Krazzylegs leaning towards Diamond Ore:

Simple Parkour, Dead Space guy doing a backflip whilst Steve is vaulting(Iron bars are weird):

Steve helping Dead Space guy:

Creeper Attacking Steve:

The Book Of NoobsCraft:

Steve Defending an Emerald:

Thanks :), like I said I'm still getting used to it and I'm learning how to make them look better, I'll be updating the post with more pictures at some point tomorrow/later.

Those are cool, I might use one as my wallpaper.

Are you able to do these to my skin if I give you the .png? I want to make a wallpaper with me jumping over a horde of creepers...or something similar.

[EDIT]: I'd also need a link to your skin.

Meh, don't worry about it. I'll use your 3rd picture.

Not sure how I'd give you the skin model and stuff, but I think I want something like the Steve jumping over the creeper, only in my skin.

All I would need is your ideas :P And a link to your actual skin, not the model haha, for instance I got my clown skin from PlanetMinecraft, where did you get yours?

[EDIT]: Nevermind, I'm an idiot, I can easily download your skin from www.minersneedcoolshoes.com, my bad :P.

I'll get started right away!

Is this your skin?: http://gyazo.com/573279672fe30f6876b0aa41c5940ff9

Stance/Action: My avatar standing on a single piece of cobblestone in the middle of a lava pool. Looking up at diamond ore. If I could also have an iron/diamond pickaxe in my hand that would be very neat also.

Scene(Provide a link to the map/level.dat.): A lava pool, avatar is standing on a single piece of cobblestone. Diamond ore is above him, which he is looking at.

Emotion: Happy? Lol. I have a Suit on, not really showing a "face", So I don't think it really matters.

Added Krazzylegs'  wallpaper, It looked pretty bland when it was just your skin looking up at the diamond so I made him pose as if he's reaching for it, I also didn't use one block of cobble :S, my bad, didn't notice until after I rendered it! *bump*

Just some ideas:
Steve fighting a skeleton, and when it shoots at him, he splits the arrow right down the middle with his diamond sword.

Steve doing parkour with his friend Black Steve (Not racist, was a mob back in InDev). Steve is hanging onto a single block, and Black Steve grabs his hand to pull him up. (My favorite one, and I'd love to see this made, Black Steve can be found on the MineCraft Wiki.)

Steve actually crafting a diamond sword, not just placement, like, a forge, and a hammer, which he is shaping the sword with.

Steve getting blown away by a creeper in a cave.

Steve mining obsidian, but with some cool effects (Like pieces of the block breaking off, similar to the breaking animation in MC.)

Just some ideas, and people could use these if they want a wallpaper but haven't come up with an idea yet.

I'm not good at proper modeling yet, I'm only useful for adding small things such as 3D parts of the outer head so I couldn't add Black Steve. I still tried two ideas, but with your skin since I saved the model previously. *bump*

Looks great! Good job Jay!

Edit: Is the animation application you are using free? I'd love to explore this more.

There is ways to get it free, but no, it isn't originally free of charge. I'd help you out a little more, but it's not advisable on this forum 'cause Lawrence understandably doesn't want things like this discussed on here.

*bump* added a new render.

Stance/Action: Last stand in a dark damp cave where Steve is defending a lone emerald against a Creeper, and Skeleton.

Scene(Provide a link to the map/level.dat.): Cave, damp, scary... (Noobweenish)

Emotion: Furious, worried/scared and whatever else someone would feel in a last stand.

Information: Don't use the skin I have on my player... cause it's really lousy. Just make Steve.

Quick Note: The art you do is amazing, and outstanding. Good work, keep it up. ~Silver (:

Stance/Action: On one knee, resting on his sword that is stuck in the ground.

Scene: On a small hill, maybe 6-12 dead mobs around. Sun setting behind mountains in the distance.

Emotion: Tired, worn out, successful.

Btw, great job on the other photos. They look amazing.

Added Silver's request!

The normal render looked to bright for that scene so I decided to add the green edges and I made the Emerald glisten a little. I'm not sure about the final image..

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm edging towards :P I'm planning on making an animation quite soon, but it's time consuming, I need to find the right time to get started, thanks for the compliment :D.

I wont be able to take in request because I've began the progression of my first animation. I'm planning to take time on it so I wont be as active on NoobsCraft as I usually am.

Jay, have you ever thought of using a gaming engine? Like Unreal engine or Cry engine?
I'm practicing on Unreal engine myself :P i'm trying to make a 3d map of a minecraft world to explore like how the skyrim map works.
