Towns & Nations / Re: Utopia NEW Spawn Building Sneak Peek
« on: 17 Jan 2015, 17:24:26 »
Now that is awesome!

3
This is how we should design Utopia. For reference, each regular white space is 4 chunks. The "C" under the spawn stands for courtyard. White=residential, black=road, yellow=shops, bright green=park, blue=embassy plots, red=subway station, dark grey=bridge, light grey=downward ramp, dark green=edge of plateau or elevation(area below and right of the C that is connected by ramp and drops to an elevation of 115), pink=town mayor/staff plots (if wanted), bright blue=exclusive more expensive private plots with better view, orange=town building plots. I think this is the best possible thing we could do to make the plateaus great. On the base of the plateau, you guys can do whatever you want. There are about 290 plots in total. The second map is a view of the subway system which I have fully designed to the highest efficiency. I also recommend downloading and zooming to see the full image and its full potential. I can build the subway system, and will definitely build the section that drops to 115 by myself (that section contains my planned home, a Chrysler Building that reaches the max build height)

Thanks, and if you're going to be active on the server, then you can definitely keep your position within town.

Will do! Also I have drawn up some detailed map plans if you would like to see them.

Good to see you're back. May I retain my position?

Just my last pitch before I go which is now revised to fit the chunky system. For reference, each regular white space is 4 chunks. The "C" under the spawn stands for courtyard. White=residential, black=roads, yellow=shops, bright green=parks, blue=embassy plots, red=subway stations, dark grey=bridges, light grey=downward ramp, dark green=edge of plateau or elevation(area below and right of the C that is connected by ramp drops to 115), pink=town mayor/staff plots, bright blue=exclusive more expensive private plots, orange=town building plots. I think this is the best possible thing we could do to make the plateaus great. On the base ground, you guys can do whatever you want. There are 290 plots in total. I also recommend downloading and zooming to see the full image and its full potential.

Dang I was hoping that wasn't the case. Going to have to re-think my town design :/. Thank you for the info.

Say a chunk goes from 736 to 752. If I make a 16 by 16 plot does it have to be exactly the borders of that chunk or can it be, say 740 to 756?

This is my proposed map of the plateaus of Utopia. For reference, each regular white space is 4 chunks. The "C" under the spawn stands for courtyard. White=residential, black=roads, yellow=shops, light green=parks, blue=embassy plots, red=subway stations, dark grey=bridges, light grey=downward ramp, dark green=edge of plateau or elevation(area below and right of the C that is connected by ramp drops to 115), pink=town mayor/staff plots. Please tell me if I left any out and what you think of my proposal.
P.S. I recommend downloading the file and zooming in because it is a little small.
another P.S. I forgot the trail for the connection between the town staff plots and the roads XD

UPDATE: going to post a new design tomorrow due the way plots are organized in V6, but the main design will mostly be the same just with more plots.

It means how much one of the items cost. So say someone is selling 64 coal for sale at 400 Noobs, 400/64=6.25, which rounds up to 7, so 1 coal is worth about 7 Noobs.
Oh thanks I get it now.

In the town I'm in, I will live in a huge Chrysler building skys****er that I am going to build. Possibly in the town by the bay or in the wilderness is going to be my remake of the mansion from the Great Gatsby which will be my weekend/vacation home.

I was actually thinking of building the HQ I have designs and everything planned out. Also I am listed as a town architect so I have the qualifications.

The only picture of the possible subway central station I could upload (others are too big). Any opinions on what the ceiling and floor should be? Also is there a way to make pictures smaller so they can fit in a post?

I have done some exploring and my new design fits under the 14 block requirement and uses 1/4 the redstone with only 2 redstone dust actually used for each station.   :D

My design doesn't use a lot of redstone, in fact it uses hardly any at all. It is a dual railed system(two rails going opposite directions so no conflicts on track), is automatic (don't have to leave the minecart when you enter a station just press a button to travel to the next station) and highly efficient (like I said no conflicts and can have as many stations as you want united in a circle). Now I was hoping on having a central station where the main subway rail stops once then can travel to the next station. Also in that station would be expressway rails that lead directly to a special area and back (ex. spawn) with maybe a few stops in between.

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking :)
How about when the town is made and we are well off I can be the main architect/planner for the subway and central station? With your approval on designs of course.

In order to install a fully functioning subway with stations I need 15 blocks of space between plots. I have a picture for an example.(red wool represents distance from road to plot)

You can do whatever you want with that space but I'm just telling you what I need.
