We've built an Auction House below Atlas Steve in our market center.  We've labeled the chests appropriately for you.  We were also wondering if it's at all possible to place static villagers or snowmen (like 3 of them) to act as auctioneers just for fun.  We've tried snowmen but they despawn unfortunately.

This would make public resource buildings so much easier to accomplish.  Would extend beyond just farms and would make town staff life a lot easier.  I'm definitely hoping this is possible, as running a town even partially is already a huge handful.  Thanks to the staff for looking into it!

On a semi related note:  I really want to buy a squid spawner for the Skyside Aquarium.  The problem is, as I've tested, is that squids despawn above a certain world height.  Seems they can only exist in some narrow band of heights?  Would it be possible to remove the upper limit so we can have them up in sky towns or mountain towns?  Would be a neat decoration, just like the bats.

That makes me wonder if bats have a similar limitation?  I'd love to put a bat spawner in our dark room for some atmosphere.

I think he may actually be onto something.  The server has one "daily" type incentive activity with voting and I suppose more couldn't hurt.  You could maybe have a /kit noobz that would give you like 1000 noobz every 24 hours or something similar.

Microsoft doesn't do a ton of meddling.  If Mojang is making money they won't see a ton of radical changes.  They just want a new revenue stream.

I think if anything it will be beneficial.  Mojang is not a good game developer.  Maybe getting some money and good management in there will lead to some actual development of this game.

On top of that bummer, I was kiting the squids from the ocean up to skyside yesterday and it seems like they were despawning even with the mobs toggled.  I don't think they can be at that elevation.  Bummers all around for Skyside Aquarium / Fishing Arena.

Plot tax for residents of Skyside is now free (0nbz/day).  Looking for groups of players to move in to town.  I will give away free plots and in some cases greenlight the building of a new resident plaza in a theme of your groups choosing.

Also, BamaCrafty restaurant is now open!

Why do you want to be a Prefect?:   Just to help keep the server accommodating for all players.  I've done the mmo server staff thing before in games like Continuum in the early 2000s.  Noobstown is great and I like doing whatever I can to contribute to it's greatness as a place for everyone to play MC and be respected.

I wouldn't worry about that. The people that are actually smart enough to read up on the issue will (hopefully) know that if they change their username they won't have access to the server. So therefore you should still see the usual people online unless they are mega desperate to have a username change and are willing to lose their access. :)

The thing to be concerned about here is less about existing player retention than it is about how new people experience joining servers.  From my experience in server shopping, the second I ran into an issue with the server I left immediately or gave up on the connection process.  If new people who have already changed their names go looking for a new server and are met with a login error when trying to connect to NC, that's instantly a lost new player.  Lack of new players over time = server death.  Playing with a touchy thing here.

I dunno I haven't received one yet I think they ship out the packages around the 20th of every month.  They insist that the contents average 40 bucks retail if not more.  Theres a page on the site there that shows what's been in past packages.

I found this and signed up earlier today.  For less than 20 bucks a month they'll fill a crate with nerd merch (sometimes minecraft related) and mail it to you.  Seems like a steal.

This has come up before and it seems like the only method at the moment is to message an admin with the persons name and theyll manually remove it for you.
