Server Announcements / Re: Emergency situation!

At the very lease everyone can take solace in the fact that our mods, admins and owners are taking the issue seriously. I've been on plenty of servers that would just shoulder shrug and go about their business. I for one find it comforting to know they are on the ball. Thanks guys and gals!  <3

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I've been playing for a couple of days now and am really ramped up about this server! Everyone has been great to deal with, the mods seem fair and friendly and the environment is very relaxed and enjoyable. Much better than I have expected for a on-line server... I'm an old WoW player so I imagined it would be similar lol. Mark me pleasantly surprised!

Thanks!!! :D

Being generally new to Minecraft and completely new to the server scene, I ran into an issue this evening and wanted to get some advice from more experienced on-line players so please feel free to chime in if you have any suggestions.

After some time I came to find running to the mining spawn was a bit of a chore, so I decided to create my own mine under my home. Now in doing this I felt I could expedite the process and get my materials quicker and more efficiently. After a while I ran into large caverns full of precious mats and ores. I started gathering what I could from the main chambers while fighting off the occasional skele and spider. Then I branched off into the smaller shafts to chase more ore. It was here I discovered a number of rails on the cavern floor and many torches placed sporadically throughout the complex. The placement of the rails and some of the objects were far too random, in my opinion, to be an ongoing or current build. I did not disturb these items and left the area for fear of accidentally griefing. My closest neighbor was not online so I could not ask him if it was his mine I ran into. Now if this was my neighbor I would have no problem with helping him out and splitting the fruits of our labor in a mining co-op. ( As I built his home and garden for him I doubt this would be an issue. ) But my question is, if this wasn't his property, how would a person be able to rectify the issue without incurring a ban due to griefing? Needless to say this would fall under collateral damage or accidental griefing, but it's still griefing non the less. I guess this would be the reason the mine world exists, but even there I have run into other people's mines. What are the rules governing this so as to be clear.

I thank you all for your time and would appreciate any help in the matter!

Hi there!

My name is Brian; otherwise known as blc1973. As some of you may have guessed by that birth date there at the end of my monicker I'm OLD! lol  I'm 38 years old to be exact. And while I do use a cane, I probably smell better than most Grandparents.  :P

About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with aggressive Lymphoma. ( Cancer ) While I have fought tooth and nail against it I find myself now at stage 3. Now unable to work; I spend most of my time with my children and awesome wife. In between my treatments while they are at work and school I play MC.

I have always been passionate about games. I especially love the on-line environment and meeting new people. It means more now to me than ever before as I don't get out as much as I used too. I love the feel of Minecraft. The endless possibilities it brings. The community is also equally great! I enjoy the exuberance of youth. These kids are brilliant in their creativity. I find most of the young people I meet on MC to be very accepting of my age rather than flame it. ( Which is nice compared to WoW )  :/

In closing I would just like to say thank you! I know I can be long winded so props to those of you who finished this rant of an introduction! lol If any of you are interested, you can find some of my projects at Planet Minecraft under blc1973 in the member search section. They might not be much too look at compared to some, but I am proud of them none the less!

Thank you!
