What is Deathrun?

Deathrun was originally a game concept developed as a Counter Strike mod, well, a very long time ago. Concepts of Deathrun have existed in many different games since. I had originally developed my version of Deathrun in Minecraft in one of the first version of Noobstown. Of course over time that got wiped. I've developed a second version with more advanced redstone for heavier automation.

How to Play

To start the game you need two players to step on each pad in the starting to start.

Players will be given 30 seconds to enter the room before the main door closes.

One person should be selected as a trapper and go to the door marked Trapper. If there are more than three people, I recommend having multiple Trappers.

The rest of the players that are not trappers will go as Runners through the entrance marked Runners.

Runners should line up behind the door and tell the trapper when ready to start

The Trapper, if new, should be given some time to try the traps and remember how they work since the traps are not marked.

When everyone is ready, the Trapper will hit the start button marked START DEATHRUN.

At this point, Trapper door will close, and the runner doors will open.

A timer will start which will lock the main gate to stop new players from joining for roughly three minutes. If the game lasts longer than that games can still continue, but be aware new players can walk in during the game even if not welcome.

Trapper should use the traps to cause the runners to fall into the lava. Runners are allowed to get out of the lava if capable.

Runners should attempt to run to the end of the course and reach the winning door to the trapper room.

If the Trapper kills all the Runners before they get to the winning door, the Trapper wins and he/she should press the button on the black wool marked END GAME.

If a single Runner reaches the door the game will end automatically. Any existing runners on the course can kill themselves or reach the end.

REMEMBER Runners only have 1 life. Once dead, they must go to the main room by use "/visit metalthrust" or do something else. DO NOT use "/back" to attempt to run again. This applies to the Trapper as well.

If neither side wins for WHATEVER REASON the game will automatically end when the ~3 minute timer is reached.

The EXIT GAME door will open to allow players to go back to the main room to start another game

Please do not linger in the game room after a game has ended.

Remember that the main room will have a light to tell you if a game is currently going on or not. When the light is on, the main door is locked to prevent new players from joining.

RULES (Follow 'em)

1) One life per runner. No using "/back" after death.
2) Do not spam the arrow trap. I have to pay for those arrows :<
3) Respect other players.
4) Runners, do not attempt to maliciously push each other into the lava. You're supposed to be working together to win.
5) ALL PLAYERS must exit the game after it ends. Either by manual END GAME or Runners reaching the winning door.
6) DO NOT attempt to sabotage others games by staying in the arena after the game is done.
7) DO NOT abuse the lock feature.
8 ) If any redstone breaks, please report the breakage to MetalThrust.

If rules are not followed. I will have to remove you from the wild plot.

Feature List

The improved Deathrun includes for the most part, game automation. The only thing that is not automated is the exit game. Since I can't forcibly remove players from the premise.

The game has six trap sections for runners to run through, and trappers to trap.

Lock feature allows for players to play for up to ~3 minutes by themselves without interference from others.

It was made with love.

Credits

I did not do this 100% by myself. Most of the work and design was done by me but I had help replicate the redstone to other traps from:
Subject_A
Airbus_340

Various helpers helped me fill up lava buckets and dump them into the pools

Various helpers also helped me clear the underground space to build it.

Props to all those assistants for the huge help!

Well if you're going to read this I have a small suggestion on how to play the game. Originally the game was designed so that if the Runners made it to the Trapper's room they got to kill the Trapper(s). Well, with Noobstown's PvP protection this is still possible. If both Runners and Trappers enable PvP you can kill the trapper at the end.

If you would like to see a feature to give you a sword at the end to kill the Trapper please tell me. Otherwise I will leave it out so I don't waste precious stone swords.

Thanks,

Market Place / Re: Music Discs.
« on: 27 May 2014, 09:58:45 »
Hi Lucimays, although I don't have any discs to spare. I wouldn't mind helping you get the discs one day from getting a skeleton to kill a creeper. Which should drop a number of spare discs which you could sell off if you don't get the ones you want. If you see me online just hit me up and I could show you some quick and easy ways to do this.

Market Place / Re: Buying
« on: 27 May 2014, 09:56:59 »
I think a good reason why the /shop doesn't allow players to buy from it is to promote player to player trading. If the shop did have a buying option, player to player trading would lessen. Thus weakening the Noobscraft economy. Of course if you need to bring lots of torches, a good way would be to not craft the actual torches until you need them. For example, bring a stack of logs and coal. Since your 2x2 crafting grid is big enough to craft torches with raw material, you may be able to save inventory space that way. I hope this helps.

Noobstown General / Re: So much for a balanced Economy....
« on: 8 Mar 2014, 04:19:21 »
This goes against Noobscraft wanting a stable economy.  If we plan to keep a flowing economy with player to player transactions, we should remove the possibility of donating for Nbz at once. Or possibly add a limit to how much Nbz you can buy per some period of time. Although I do understand that in many cases this will help the server grow. But we shouldn't have to pay for it by sacrificing part of the economy. There are many other suitable ways to increase donation flow.

Wow, never knew the town world looked so beautiful from above. Love the map ummfred. I can't help but think it's starting to feel sort of like skyrim. In the way that the towns seem so nicely placed around the map.

LIVE TO RUN

INTRO
Hello All, I'm MetalThrust. You may know me as Metal. Anyways I have been working for a while (Probably why i haven't chatted for a while)on a big project (or medium whateva). But today or should I say tonight I have finally completed it and I am really happy with my work. Your probably like shut up metal and get to the point. I know I'm getting there. So anyways this project came from a game on a online game called Roblox. You may no it or may not but I used to play it, but there was a game on it called Live to Run that I really liked so I kinda adapted it to Minecraft.

So I have made a little obstacle course called Live to Run. The basis of it is an obstacle course with one guy controlling some of the traps. Which is usually me cause you people have no idea what lever does what. I spent a lot of hard work on it and want a lot of you noobscraftians to try it. And also get your opinions on it. So if you want to try it just contact me online and tell me that you want to try.
Pics of the Live to Run obstacle course coming soon (until I figure out how to insert one....)
