I've been seeing a lot more new players on Noobscraft as of late, and with it, MUCH confusion. Many new players seem to be overwhelmed by the amount of things they need to know in order to prosper on the server, which results in the chatlog getting flooded up by questions that could easily be answered by anyone. Here's a few ideas to help new players settle into the server easier.

Tour Guides

If possible, we could appoint more seasoned members of the server to show new players around the main spawn and possibly introduce a town or two to anyone who joins as a Member. They would also have to show the players the basic commands needed to use the server to the fullest extent. This way, players who are brand new can automatically jump right in after their tour and get started on their own.

New Tutorial Area w/ Rulebook Quiz

I know Foob has been working on a new tutorial area for quite some time, but a sort of Quiz at the end of the tutorial would be good so that players don't just simply run through the tutorial without looking at the rules, which results in them getting confused and flooding the chatbox with hundreds of questions. I've been on servers who demand that you know the rules before joining the server completely. For example, like us, they spawn you in a beginner's tutorial area at first login. They also show every rule and command needed. However, the only difference: They quiz you on the rules at the end. Once you reach the end of the tutorial, you must pass the quiz in order to join the server's main area. In order to do this, they give you sets of signs, each with a question about the rules, and a True or False answer. In order to pass, you must answer all questions correctly. If you do not pass, you are teleported back to the beginning of the tutorial again and are forced to read the rules.

I think these things would definitely aid the admins and mods in cutting down the workload they have, as well as giving new players an easier way to learn the server's ins-and-outs. Let me know what you think!

IGN:   Bexn
Age:   16
How many hours per day:   2-6 hours. I'm on after midnight quite often as well. This may change once my school year begins again at the end of August.
Why you want this role:   I want to help newer people coming into the server, and assist the other moderators who may already be busy with other things. I enjoy this server very much, and would like to take a more active role in it.
Past experience:   I have been an officer of a World of Warcraft guild previously, and I also take the time to answer questions for anyone who asks them on the server. I also have good standing with many of the server's members, including the moderators themselves. I've also written two Help Guides for the server, including the Mob Arena guide and the New Players FAQ guide.
Time zone:  Eastern Standard Time
Additional information:  I'm a good peacekeeper. If there are fights, I can help calm them down before anyone gets banned. I have actually done so before on the server. If someone needs to be kicked or banned, I will do so promptly. If someone needs explanation on something, I will explain as best as I can. I'm willing to do anything for the server, as I have been a frequent member for quite a while now. I hope you'll consider my application whenever possible. Thank you.
