Oh I like your Christmas tree!!!

What mods are you using?

52
Yes, thank you Gaim, it was so much fun! So many goodies!

Looking forward to the next one!  :D

53
Oh yes!!! Please do consider it foob & larry!!  O:)  Great suggestion mrfloris!

We would love love that!!  Just think - everyone could decorate their homes & towns even more! <3

I certainly wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for that either.  It will also make some of them special to have some special donation items as well.

Other / Re: What's The Story Behind Your Name?
« on: 31 Oct 2015, 06:03:26 »
My came from being an avid sims2 & 3 player, runescape player and longtime wow player.  For all those accounts I pretty much had the same account name - my nickname, last name inital & a number.

For Minecraft I wanted something different - afterall - I was starting out in a new game & wanted a change.

My favorite hobby other than playing games is geocaching.  I love it. So i thought well, why not?  My geocaching name is Chitterchatter.  I couldn't use Chitterchatter for Minecraft as it was taken - *grumbles* so I had to put the silly little  underscore at the end of my name to make it work.

Chitterchatter for my nick name was made one afternoon with my coworkers & some friends - as I like to talk alot, and if you ever go hiking with me, well, I like to converse & tell stories etc.  So Chitterchatter it was and here I am.  :)

Hi Drlazerbeem,

I know suggestions are always welcomed.  :)

The server shop sounds like a great idea - however, there are malls and shops in game - and some of our most active members that have shops keep them stocked - so these shops are always "open".  Some even have buying & selling so people can sell things to the shop to always keep these stocked as well.  For the main part, most shopkeepers also are pretty fair on a lot of the prices - the auction house might get a bit crazy at times, but a lot of the shops are all pretty close in prices for many things.

I myself have several shops, and I make sure to keep an eye on other shops on the server & their prices.  We like to keep the economy in good standing, but having the shops & malls in towns also helps keeps a lot of the towns active.  This is a towny server, so that aspect of it is very important.

I think if there was a central buy all server shop that sold everything, we could lose that fun and uniqueness of the town shops.  The server does have /shop and /vipshop where members can sell items.  Yes, this does encourage working on skills, fishing, farming and collecting resources.   A lot of the vip members & vip+ members also help out the reg members - you see, /shop allows members to sell things to shop, /vipshop is a server sell shop with the same items but a bit of a different price for vips - part of the vip perks.  You will see on the server, many shops where you can sell things to.  This is from vips/vip+ members that are making is so members and everyone on the server can sell at close to vip prices.  This again, encourages people to go to the towns & visits of people to keep these shops active, yet allowing everyone to make some nbz off resources.

But, the server does have events & other things - like for instance, this month with the candy.  It's an easy way to make money really - work on skills, get a candy - keep the candy & buy the heads that are up for sale, or sell the candy & make some more money.  It's a great event for everyone - even those that don't collect heads or anything, its a great opportunity to make some extra cash. So sometimes, with the events & quests, there might be certain items that are crazy priced.  This is temp, its not forever.  During the wizard month spider eyes went up to crazy amounts - now they are back to normal prices.  In the meantime people that had them & sold them made some extra cash.  For those not interested in partaking in the events or buying/selling - no harm done.

When these things events happen, a lot of the community get together in the towns, the town outposts & people's wild homes etc to forming grinding skill parties.  These are a lot of fun.  It's really great too when the towns have their own events for town members & everyone has events - like the fishing tournaments we often have.  We haven't had as many lately, but they are great fun when they do happen!  Hope you join us for some :)

This is such a fabulous community, that even if someone really wanted or needed something - I am sure there will be a member willing to help out with a crazy priced item - especially if someone isn't begging or intending to sell & make a profit off something given to them. A lot of our members that have vip/vip+ have bought vip for other members that don't have that opportunity - usually if they are known to be genuine and are good citizens etc.

As for the ranks, well, like the others said - this is a great community - I been here since June.  I personally think we should keep the ranks how they are.  I haven't noticed any different behavior between any rank - the mods play with the rest of us just the same.  I like how member is when they sign up at the forum - it helps with the sense of community & helps staff with communication as well.  I don't think we should eliminate that.

Everyone seems equal, but we all know that mods & chat mods are the ones that are working to ensure everyone is following the rules.  I really like how there doesn't appear to be any ego trips or anyone feeling they are higher rank than others etc.  I think having a rank where people are good friends of mods or admin and another you tuber rank could create a bit of social unbalance or "cliques" - something this server doesn't have a lot of - the sense of community & fairness across the board is one thing that makes this server unique & how it is.

Anyways, just my thoughts too on it all & why I think its working how it is.

Why do you want to be a Chatmod?:  When I first joined this server I knew right away it was different from others.  I instantly felt at home, & what you have here is exactly what I was looking for in a minecraft server.  I love the staff, members & entire community itself.  <3  It's like a big family! I love all the ages & how everyone works together.  I think this is a fabulous server - the members are so fun & helpful and you truly have wonderful staff here that work so well together & really go that extra mile.  I really want to be able to do what I can to help keep this server so amazing.

I had been up in the air about applying for chatmod as I wanted to be sure I will have the time.  I didn't want to apply until I was sure I could follow through on all commitments & responsibilities - so tada - here I am showing my interest.

I already know I have made this server my home & I don't want to play at any other & I have no plans whatever of leaving, being absent or inactive.  My thing with the time is that I am a full time working mom, and I go to school part time.  With that said, I still have plenty of time for playing, helping out as well!  :)

My kids are grown & finishing high school/college themselves.  This does free up a lot of time for me at home & in my spare time.  I am very fortunate to have a boyfriend & family that all completely understands the balance between work, chores, homework & play.  We all work together in this house to make it work, have fun & we are all happy.  We are a gaming family that all work & do school on the side but we focus on play.  We board game & video game. For video gaming - everyone in the family here has all been staff on servers & in games & ran guilds, clans, websites & forums etc - we all know how to get the housework done & time our dinners & chores around gaming events, activities, meetings and what not!  it truly is a scheduling art that only gaming families completely understand & can master!! haha.  Who can honestly say they base their Christmas dinner schedules around raids, skype meetings, twitch live streams, leveling & skill building parties & other such xp events?  ;)

I have played other games, but since left them all.  I have founded & lead clans, guilds & lead raid teams in games.  I have always moderated & been part of staff and/or administration - both in game & on forums & websites.  I understand the dedication & commitment as well as responsibility involved & I have always enjoyed it fully.

As a mom I have the patience & understanding for all ages - I also excel at multitasking & I can accept & handle a lot of stress too & keep my cool  :P I am friendly, chatty & am a communicator, and I never have disputes or drama with others, I usually get along with everyone - both in game & in real life.  I am not a moody, angry, argumentative or irrational person.  My real job, I am working my way up to be a Human Resource Manager - I am currently an Office Administrator I understand conflicts & I am really good at resolving them or working with others to help them be resolved. I also work really well in a team environment - I can give directions but I am also good at receiving them.

For 3+ yrs now Minecraft has been my game of choice.  Before I found Noobscraft, I was a moderator on two other servers.  One of the servers closed down, so that ended that staff position on that server.  The other server - my last one before here, my reasons for leaving weren't because of the staff, members or me being staff.  Sure, it was busy - always well over 100 people online at a time - there were members from age 5 up to 85. Being PST I was one of the only staff on through the night since it was an East Coast server - I was the nightshift, hehe.  It would be just me with up to 20 or more people at times.  I don't recall ever having a situation I couldn't handle or that stressed me out.  I got along with all the staff & the admin. I loved being staff & helping out.  It was a much smaller world then we have however, and due to it being so busy - it was well over resourced.  You couldn't find a diamond anymore, the world was all dug up & mined out, you didn't see animals freely, you wouldn't see a cow or chicken - my forests of trees and flowers were all gone :(  The only way I could stock my flower shop was using bonemeal in my own claimed areas.  The economy was all disrupted as well. I was frustrated with those things. There was no where to explore - I spent a lot of time running around planting saplings in hopes to rebuild forests - or at least give people opportunities to have forests!  I had suggested to staff about having a resource world to mine & collect resources but they didn't want a world that reset ever - I also suggested a world for the towns & one for our private homes - I suggested staff replanting parties or breeding parties so people could see animals in fields etc. I know - weird eh?  It was turning into a big greifed world really.  I was becoming more & more unhappy with that & a lot of the staff & admins were playing other games.  It seemed a lot of dedication was lost.

This was all before I found Noobscraft.  Out of my frustration of lack of resources & constantly rerolling areas due to extreme greifing (everyone was fighting over resources) & my desire to play a towny server I went in search of an active server that not only had events & activities, but also had towny & a separate resource world - and then I found my home here! :)

Either way, thank you for giving me the opportunity to apply.

I enjoy it here, and will continue to help out when & where I can. I try my best to help with everything - if I don't know the answers to something that is asked I will try to find out.  I am a quick learner as well and what I don't know, I am always willing to learn.  If you ever need anything that I can help with or if you are looking to have more help - just give me a shout :)

PS - I am still interested in being part of staff  :P

That looks pretty cool!  Great job!

I love monopoly - at home here we have the classic game of Monopoly, World of Warcraft Monopoly, Nightmare before Christmas Monopoly, Catopoly, Baconopoly, and the Wizard of Oz Monopoly.  (and the kids have asked for more monopoly games for Christmas this year! lol)

Your board looks great!

wow omg, your guardian angels are certainly with you!

So glad you are alive!!  <3

Take it easy & hope you heal up alright.

From my experience in having a head on collision 14 yrs ago (not my fault) - the third & fourth days were the worst for pain & more soft tissue injuries.

Please rest a lot, get yourself a lawyer when you can & make sure to write a journal & document your pain, feelings, inconveniences & injuries.  Even get help & have someone else write for you if you need.  It might seem like a chore, but in the end that will help you a lot (my advice from experience).

Thoughts & prayers are with you for a speedy recovery & overall wellness! <3

Competitions & Events / Re: Chunk of the Month - July 2015
« on: 30 Jul 2015, 07:18:58 »
I would love to enter too - just head over to /visit Chitterchatter_

Welcome to my Chunk of the Month entry - Summer.

What is summer without camping, fishing, the beach, sunbathing, and sitting by the cozy fire?

This little hillside campsite is tucked away in the bay on the boundary of my wild plots.

Here, there is a little tent up on the hill, equipped with a sleeping bag & cooler...there is a fire, for cooking.  This little area has some logs around the fire, for when friends come, it's a cozy  retreat to sit & tell stories in the moonlit.

There is a rope swing for some fun times into the water - what's summer without hitting the beach & having a rope swing?  This is a great area to fish as well, and you will see Chitter has her sun umbrella & beach towel set up too!

Hope you enjoy visiting my little summer space.  :)

PS - I had some trouble setting my visit since my campsite is near the water & on a bit of a hill.  You will enter my campsite down at the beach.  Just go up the hill to see the tent & rest of the little area. (I put some signs to help guide you)
