Towns & Nations / Locked plot?

I, Emokid222 have created a town. My TA is JBMaes,and we've lived on this island for the majority of our play, we had chests already set up, and neither of us can access them, or place any blocks. I'm lost as to what I do, help will be appreciated. Also, i'd LOVE some help with the commands for the town.

(When we attempt to access them, it tells us "Locked plot.")

It is this way because, 1. If everyone had a nether portal, it could create some lag to the server.
2. Nether portals have a big tendancy to get tangled up with other peoples,can't then they complain.

So we have kept the rule at 1 nether portal per town, and that is it

Okay, so... For example if I were to begin a town, we may have a portal? Or do you mean in the server itself?

You're right, towns are the safest, but if you don't feel comfortable with a stranger in control of your housing, etc etc.

        I would also add the recommendation of iron armor+ before mining. It helps with creepers and is repairable at level one. I'd also like to add when using iron golems on an island, they will constantly fall into the water, and are unable to get out without assistance, so be sure to use fences or 1x1 perimeter to stop their shenanigans. And stone swords work best while mining because of the abundancy, along with buckets and a full stack of dirt/cobble. I would recommend to bring 5+ stone pick's if you intend to stay for a long mining trip, along with 10+ bread. Works best with a partner and the /tpa [name] command. Thanks for reading! <3
