Hey all,
Quick update! ~ We've just recently patched Towny to fix the issue related to missing home and plot blocks, which has been causing quite a bit of disturbance to the Town world since launch. I understand some Towns have lost a large percentage of their claimed area, please get in contact with me via site PM or in-game about refunds ASAP. This week I will be working through each town one by one and helping those towns get back up and running, once again, apologies for the issues; this plugin is obviously not developed by the Noobscraft team but we have highly dedicated friends that have been able to pickup the development of Towny to ensure these issues remain minimal in the future.
Would personally like to thank Shadowdog007 (Developer of Horses, custom plugin designed for our servers), for helping work through the issues with Towny.
In other News, Lawrence has been working hard on our custom Referral system which should launch later this week. The system will allow you to invite friends, family or strangers to the server. Both yourself and the invited player will be rewarded one diamond for your efforts, as a thank-you for both introducing players to the server and helping our community stay connected. We feel this system will be overall more beneficial than voting in the long term, and will allow both players of Noobstown and new players to be rewarded or have a boosted experience for their hard work. You can invite as many players as you want to the server, they simply have to confirm that you were the referrer to be rewarded (Only New Guests can be invited).
Voting will be implemented this Friday in preparation for the monthly voting site resets. Voting each day will reward you 2,500 Noobz. Voting on the wider scale helps promote the server and increases the possibility of new players finding our wonderful server, so in regard to voting it will be still and integral part of our systems to help Noobstown grow and we appreciate every vote we receive.
Information on Coupons:
I'm still working through the lists, please be patient you will receive them eventually and we will not set an expiry date until every single person has their coupons. Thank you!

WHY?: At first I wasn't sure if i was going to try and restart Gallifrey. After talking to my original town assistants and a few residents I found the inspiration I was looking for and decided I not only want to bring my town back to life. I wanted to make it much better, for the residents.
EXPERIENCE: Yes, I ran Gallifrey during V5. I also have ran guilds in WoW and run a Army on Firefall currently.
TIME: Most of my time is free time, so I spend most of it playing games.
PLAN: My old town assistants and I plan to rebuild a better Gallifrey for everyone to enjoy. More attractions, bigger areas for homes, and more.
Agreement: I (Mprint) accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
We now have the money to start, scouting location now.
Accepted.

WHY?: I want to start a town again on this server because this is by far the best server i have found and i love the community. I also think its fun to run a town, both because of the responsibility and the way you can be creative. I also want to help this community because i think its so great but it can always get better. I want to help the people joining the server and give them a place they can get help, ask questions and most important have fun! I want them to enjoy the server as much as me and give them a opportunity to have fun with fks Spleef. I like the trust you get as a Mayor and i like the opportunity a town gives me.
EXPERIENCE: I runned a town on a server for a long time and i think i rebuild the town 4 times because he had to restart it many times . I know most of the commands and know how to run a town.
TIME: I will give much time to my town and will be online for hopfully almost every day. If i ever stop playing on the server or i start playing little, i will give the town over to someone i trust and probably will play more than me.
PLAN: I have many plans for the town like a spleef arena, Town hall, Battle Arena, Disco house, Radio tower, a library and more.... I also have a few friends ready to join and maybe some players i know a little on the server.
Agreement
I, (Kevinas321), accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
Accepted, congraulations

We've done all we can on our end, it seems to be a global issue with Comcast at the moment. I wouldn't think it'd be too much longer until they fix the issue, I'll try and investigate further but I don't think we are able to physically fix anything on our end to resolve the issue further.

« on: 20 Feb 2014, 07:37:59 »
Hey,
If you have been experiencing connection issues to the Noobstown server, those should now be resolved. I believe this issue directly effected Comcast customers going through dirfferent channels to reach the server which eventually caused a timeout, the issue has been dealt with.
Also issues with Towns will be irredicated this week/weekend.

IGN: Debo37
WHY?: Noobstown is thus far the strongest community I've encountered in Minecraft - it is fairly run and very well-moderated, the behavioral standards upheld are unmatched elsewhere, the administrative team is active and involved, and the dual focus on economic gameplay and good old fashioned fun makes playing here a rewarding experience in every way.
I would like to lead a town in v6 because I've made the best Minecraft friends a guy could ask for from this server, and I want to give them the most killer v6 experience possible. I would consider myself part of a rarer demographic of Minecraft player - myself and others like me prioritize high achievement and "mega building" as some of the most enjoyable parts of Minecraft. Nothing gets us going like building incredible things with restricted resources - when players are restrained by economic realities, creativity flourishes.
I want to be part of a v6 town that emphasizes architectural style, fosters town member camaraderie, and participates in a healthy dose of economic competition. I want to help others build a town that truly impresses; a town that any member would be darn proud to be a part of.
EXPERIENCE: I have a large amount of leadership experience. To take it from the top - I am presently co-owner of a Limited Liability Company (a software development firm) incorporated in the State of Colorado, hold a Vice President role (and held several other minor roles) in my college social fraternity, managed a now-defunct 1,000 member community associated with custom content in the Halo series of games (Halo 3 and Halo: Reach), ran a 50+ person clan of Pokemon breeders waaaay back in the days of the Nintendo NSider Forums, captained several ice and inline hockey teams, held executive roles in several clubs and organizations in college and high school, ran several short-lived clans in the online heydays of Mario Kart DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters, and was mayor of the town Seaside and leader of its associated nation in Noobscraft's v5. I've also led several factions in faction-based servers and always had a blast doing so.
TIME: I return for my last year of undergrad this Fall, and for the first time in my college career I won't be taking a full courseload. I will have plenty of free time to split between Noobscraft and my LLC - and I love going back and forth between playing games and coding them for inspiration. In addition, I will be able to delegate a lot of responsibility to an incredibly-capable crop of Town Assistants whom I have come to know and love throughout the past year and a half. Some of these people I know in person, and some of them I met via Noobscraft, but we all share the same passions and big dreams for what this town can and will become.
PLAN: While I don't want to spoil the unique concept behind this town (it's going to be private to members and secret until a solid amount of it is built), I do feel comfortable giving a general sense of the design's aims and what to expect from it. It's also worth mentioning that I have roughly 15 to 20 people already on board for building this town, and I expect interest to spike significantly once we reveal to the rest of the community what we've been working on.
As I've already mentioned, we dream big. This town is going to be grandiose in all ways - large plots for its members, incredibly high-quality common spaces, and a unique design that allows organic growth without losing structure. A few of us have schemed out concepts and we have a basic framework that should serve us rather well (it uses some mathematical concepts to make navigation in town easy, for example). The design itself isn't set in stone per sé, but it allows for consistent adaptability that will allow new elements of the game to be incorporated as they are added, plus it will allow significant autonomy for TAs to add new sections of town with minimal consultation of higher leadership. When you give a small army of motivated builders a huge pool of common resources and few barriers to building, greatness is bound to happen.
Large town areas like farms and markets will certainly be included, but we also plan on offering public attractions for town visitors to enjoy - mazes, parkour courses, mob-filled adventure areas, roller coasters, and puzzles are just some of the ideas on the drawing board at present. Our town won't just be fun for residents - it will become a tourist attraction as well. To my knowledge no one's really tried to make a town that was both tourist and resident-friendly before, so I hope we're allowed to give it a shot!
Agreement
I, Debo37, accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
Late reply, but for the record.. accepted! Good luck

IGN: UnlikelyPirate
WHY?: Cuz I R aewsum! hah. No, because Tortuga must rise again! My townies and I really love running a town that is dedicated to the growth all players from noob to uber. Just like Tortuga is currently set up to be friendly to newcomers, New Tortuga will take on that challenge as well.
EXPERIENCE: Been mayor of Tortuga since forever. Many moons ago, I came onto Noobstown, found an awesome community, and determined that I needed to contribute to it. I befriended Iboabdalla who bought a town and I helped him build it from scratch. Tortuga is that town and is now one of the premier towns on the server.
TIME: All the time and plenty of it. When I am not around, I have many trusted townies that cover each others roles to ensure the town runs smoothly.
PLAN: Cliff/canyon/mountainy stronghold town next to the ocean. Very peaceful and noob friendly town with low cost high quality plots and amenities throughout the town.
Agreement
I (UnlikelyPirate) accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
IGN: ProtocolAlpha
WHY?: Because we want Tortuga to rise again, we want to have our town and little community back. It was a great experience being part of that town in V5 and I want this experience back and available for others. To help and teach other players, to give them a place to live, a home. We were very popular and big town in V5 that helped and give shelter and many other services to many players. Currently our mayor (UnlikelyPirate) will not be as active due to personal issues so with the consent of the Tortuga Staff I have been decided to be the new mayor.
EXPERIENCE: I was Town Assistant in Tortuga back in V5, also in World of Warcraft I had a lvl 25 guild with about 200 members and I often was leader and organised a lot of raids.
TIME: Currently I have been playing a lot since V6 came out, mainly focusing in getting the money to crate Tortuga, since now that I am not in that race of getting that much money for the town I will focus more my time in building the town and dealing with all its affairs.
PLAN: Tortuga currently has a big group of staff members which we together will manage the town (Tekstyle4x20, Ummfredfelizco, Sombrerodude, Jemery11, Ajinnes20, and Bretticus9k), we already have a place that our old Mayor (UnlikelyPirate) liked for the town, we will be making Tortuga a suitable place to live for residents to come and enjoy V6 at its fullest!
Agreement
I, ProtocolAlpha, accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
Accepted, congrats!

Note: I know the topic header says v5 Mayors only, but in the thread it also says "Once V6 is release anyone may apply for Town creation Permissions." and V6 has been released.
IGN: Reigando.
WHY?: I wish to create a town where people can live with no taxes and no stifling of simple conversations.
If an international news story comes up, I want people to be able to speak their mind on it within the city limits and party group. I don't mean giving people carte blanche to start slinging racial slurs and things of the like, I just mean being able to carry on a conversation or even argument without immediately hearing "Guys, let's move away from this topic."
Furthermore, if someone gets bored with minecraft for a few weeks, or something else prevents them from logging in I want them to not have any fear of being kicked out of the town for not being able to cover taxes when they go away. Real life happens, you shouldn't have to worry about losing your stuff in the virtual world because of it.
Freedom is very important to me, and I would like to create a haven for like-minded people who share my love of freedom and prosperity.
EXPERIENCE: I've been a guild leader and/or strategist in multiple MMOs including WoW most prominently and Guild Wars 2 most recently. I've led both small elitist raid teams and large inclusive guilds pushing a thousand members.
TIME: I have military duties first and foremost, so if I'm activated I'm activated. However I tend to find a way to get on the internet even if I'm stuck in a barracks. As many have seen, I can dedicated a lot of time and effort to minecraft.
PLAN: Growth and prosperity. I already have all of the money required to start my town and a handful of players interested in joining it. I would like to get my permission to get started and get to work.
Cosmetically I am going for a dark urban feel with my structures, appropriate to the town's namesake, but other people are free to build what they want.
Agreement
I (Reigando) accept the liability of the role and all of the citizens in my town.
You'll be leaving in March right? Do you have any players that are able to keep the town afloat whilst you are offline or when you have a reduced amount of time? We want to try and keep the town community active and interesting, instead of having lots of ghost towns. Are there sub-mayors willing to help you with this place? Just to confirm before we accept the application, otherwise you seem to have a good plan/idea for your town. Best of luck!
I will still have internet in March, it'll just be limited. I'll still be around, just not in the extreme amounts I currently am.
I am in the nerdy side of the military, so being on a computer all day professionally is kinda what I do.
I have not yet decided to promote anyone to sub-mayor, but I have a couple people interested in the position that I am feeling out.
Ok cool, I'll set your perms up now. Please be aware not all town features/perms have been tested, if you have any issues please contact us and we'll work to help support the town creation/growth.

Hey all,
This is just a quick post to announce some changes to the shop to help boost the overall value of items based on diamonds. From today on wards we are allowing x16 Diamonds to be sold to the server shop for 1000 ea per a 24 hour period, this will help push the price of diamonds up and should effectively ripple through the rest of the item prices. Remember! players cannot buy diamonds through this method, so make sure you price them higher than the default server sale price!
Players are effectively selling items too low, which is causing the server set prices of towns, chunks, horses etc. seem like such a large leap when that wasn't our intentions at all, remember we aren't in v5 anymore and the old price marking for items are no longer valid. We'll be working to help continue pushing the economy/pricing in the right direction over the rest of this week/weekend, we may also put forced price barriers on certain items in the auction so they cannot be sold below a certain threshold.
Sell your diamonds via the /shop menu
Thank you and we hope you continue to enjoy the new version!
