As I'm sure we're all aware, Mojang released Minecraft 1.6 today (Thursday, May 26, 2011) around 5AM EST and we've been hard at work getting a build out that is compatible with Minecraft 1.6 out. Since the release, Minecraft has seen quite a few small bugfix updates addressing some unnoticed bugs and we've pretty easily kept up with them. Unfortunately, there appear to be some issues with the update that is making the game unplayable for SMP players, so we've decided to wait for a bugfix update.
Will there be a CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6?
Given the reports of showstopping bugs present in 1.6, there's a high chance a new bugfix update for Minecraft will be out tomorrow or even several times this week. As a result, it is unlikely we will be releasing a Recommended Build for 1.6 until we have something stable to work with.
As a result, we recommend everyone stay on 1.5 for a while until the showstopping issues are fixed and we can get a new, stable, compatible build out.
You can already get CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6.4, but it is unsupported and not recommended.
I'll be scouring the internet for further reports on how Minecraft 1.6 is performing, but preliminary research and our own testing has revealed it as unplayable due to chunks sporadically loading or not loading.

Back to 1.5, Notch has destroyed multiplayer with 1.6 it has horrible lag, can't update until we fix now.
Make sure you downgrade to play.

We have upgraded to 1.6_03 we are going to get 1.6_04 very soon, the build we are using atm is new and does cause lag issues we are trying to fix asap.

Hey all, earlier today 1.6 was released. Bukkit have already released a 1.6 build, although... Lots of peoples tweets about bukkit 1.6 say its terrible. Bukkit has replied that they will get a fix on the lag issue asap. Once bukkit has a stable build I will move in, Plugin's are also updating pretty quick (which is a good thing). For all those who wish to downgrade to 1.5 again to play. Follow this guide.
Install the 1.5 jar file
Windows:
Go to run
Copy this %appdata%Open the .minecraft folder Go into the bin folder delete the minecraft.jar go to downloads find minecraft.jar replace the 1.5 minecraft.jar in the bin folder run minecraft Connect to Noobstown IP: Noobstown.com Mac once you have the download of minecraft 1.5 (download link above) go to finder go into library application support then go into minecraft. go inside the bin folder delete minecraft.jar replace the download 1.5 version of minecraft into the bin folder run minecraft play Noobstown Download 1.5

Thanks to Ringburn we are creating a Tutorial room, this will simply be set as the spawn room, you will go through a series of fenced of areas learning all the commands. Experienced users will be able to exit straight away to the Portal Hub. I hope this make a less CAPS-LOCK and more peaceful chat. Also gives me a good chance to Express the rules, some users don't quite understand what NO GRIEFING/STEALING means.  Hope you enjoy the small update.

I suggest you go to run - %appdata% - .minecraft - bin and copy your 1.5 minecraft before the update as a backup.
1.6 Bug fixes (Only a selected few)
* Fixed rain sounds not playing with fast graphics enabled
* Fixed sand dropping onto boats getting stuck in a falling animation
* Fixed submerged boats rising very very fast - No more Boat lifts
* Fixed buttons and levers too close to the player being impossible to use
* Fixed fences and stairs sometimes becoming invisible - Finally.
* Fixed fences and wooden stairs not being flammable
* Fixed rain falling through liquids - Was very silly
* Fixed rain and snow being incorrectly lit
* Fixed fullscreen mode switching causing mouse issues and screen closes
* Fixed rain falling too slowly - Almost like snow ;o)
* Fixed minecarts next to each other causing extreme velocities (sorry!)
* Fixed wolves not following their owner if the name has different caps
* Fixed inventory acting weird when portaling by making the portal close all screens
* Fixed dispenser graphics being one pixel off. ONE PIXEL!!! - I laughed
* Fixed the multiplayer join screen input field being too short
* Fixed IPv6 addresses being p****d wrongly. To connect to a specific port in IPv6, use the format [1234:567::1]:25565
* Fixed network packets being sent unbuffered, causing huge amounts of packets being sent
* Fixed entity positions going out of synch sometimes. They get re-synched every 20 seconds now.
* Fixed inventory icons not animating after being picked up in multiplayer
* Fixed mushroom soup not leaving a bowl in multiplayer
* Fixed healing not flashing the health bar in multiplayer
* Fixed arrows being animated really strangely in multiplayer - 
* Fixed arrows triggering too many entity move updates in multiplayer
* Fixed the compass not pointing at the spawn location in multiplayer
* Fixed fires being impossible to put out in multiplayer - Fireman Sam was not pleased
* Fixed players spawning in the wrong location and quickly lerping to the correct location
* Fixed records not playing for other players in multiplayer
* Fixed monsters not being visible for players with their difficulty set to peaceful
* Fixed loads of exploding tnt generating way too many particles, possibly crashing the client - It's about time.

We are back online earlier than I expected which is a good thing - Lag and memory loss issue should be fixed. Sorry about all the server related issues that have effected you. Lets hope we can continue into the future with a lag free server!

Better shop
[Shop plugin] You can check an item price in the shop by typing /shopcheck dirt for example
you can change dirt with anything such as stone,sand,iron ore.. etc
To buy from the shop type:
/shopbuy (ITEM) (AMOUNT)
example: /shopbuy stone 64
To sell to the shop type:
/shopsell (ITEM) (AMOUNT)
example: /shopsell dirt 15
If you prefer to use item id's instead of typing:
/shopbuy dirt 1
and you would rather type:
/shopbuy 3 1

To get a list of items that are in the shop type:
/shop list
There are 20 pages in the shop and the first page only shows 9 items.
To go through the list type
/shop list 2
/shop list 3
/shop list 4
keep going like that until you reach the last page which is 20
I hope this helps some of the players that are struggling with the shop plugin.

Plugins & Updates Some time this week I'll be updating some plugin's and adding some new ones.
Here is a list of possible new plugin's:
Stargate - Transportation system for getting to towns
mcmmo - Minecraft roleplay levels (example: break wood and you will gain +1 woodcutting)
Chaircraft - Minecraft seats you can actually sit on.
Autoreplys - For when new players ask obvious questions like: Why can't I build at spawn?
antiflood - To prevent multiple messages by the same person. Here is an example:

Nether plugin - I'm not sure if this is a good idea at the moment. (Can collide with Stargate plugin)
NoThanks! - Stops swearers abusing the chat system.
Comment below if you like or dislike the new upcoming possible plugin's. Plugin ideas are welcome too so please suggest some! Just to let you all know the server may go down for 10minutes while I sort out these new plugin's.
On another note:We are aware of the lag issues that have lately been effecting many of the players in Noobstown, we are trying our best to find the problem and fix it. We believe a plugin is causing a memory leak (Towny). I have contacted the developer of the plugin and I am waiting for a reply. I would also like to point out that Minecraft is still in Beta, multi-player is really unstable. So please don't spam me with server issues some of them are minecraft based not the server.

We are upgrading our server to Dual core this will reduce lag and speed up the server overall, we hope you will understand that this will be worth the wait.
