From this Friday we will be hosting a huge array of events each day until after the end of the month! We have produced a simple events timetable listing events and times and dates for those events. These are all correct at the time of the page being published and may change. The timetable can be found by simply visiting http://www.noobscraft.com/summer. If you feel that we haven't really put on an event in your timezone we will do our best to add something into the timetable to suit all areas of the world. Please just post below and look for changes to the timetable. I hope you can all attend a few events and that you enjoy what we have to offer! COMPLETE! After many hours of being down we are back open and running stronger than ever! (Sorry about the extended downtime we came across complications during our permissions system transfer, it took time to resolve these.) While the changes you visibly see may be minimal we have changed a lot during the recent downtime, some of the public changes include: - Migrated to the permissions system.
- Converted all 39,866 user records to the new permissions system.
- Improved security against "hacking".
- Improved security for the chat.
- Improved automated saving of the server files to reduce any possible rollbacks.
- Improved the connection between the site and the server. (These changes will be noticeable soon!)
- Increased server stability.
- Added a custom whitelist message system. (No need for people to keep posting and asking now)
- Added better fishing rewards.
- Changed deaths in different worlds to cause you to respawn in that specific world.
- Added a spleef system.
- Added a mob arena.
- Increased Mining World border.
- Performed general plugin updates.
- Increased our player limit from 100 to a massive 550! (You should never have to wait while it's full again!)
We hope you enjoy all of the changes we have put in place, and would like to remind you that our Summer Events Schedule will be released soon! As always if you notice any errors with our changes please report them to an admin via PM as soon as possible! Bug abuse is against the rules!

Tomorrow (Tuesday) from around 7pm BST ( What time is it in my timezone?) we will be taking both the site and main server down to perform some major connection updates. During this time our services for both the site and server will be offline. The maintenance downtime will last around 2 hours (providing things go to plan, otherwise it may last longer; we will keep you informed if this does happen) starting from 7pm BST. We have finally reached 10,000 members! The user PeBachiega was our 10,000th activated account on the site. To mark this occasion they will be given a permanent 'Veteran' status on the server and site! Earlier today we implemented a really simple but quick way for you to vote for us on Planet Minecraft. Every 24 hours a quick vote box will appear at the top of the site prompting you to vote, all you then have to do is enter the correct security code and your Minecraft username, click "Cast Vote" and wait, we'll handle the rest. If you entered the correct information we'll give you 500 FREE Noobz for doing so, it takes just a few seconds! ( You can get 500 more every 24 hours!) We will be monitoring the use of this new feature over the next few days to ensure that it provides the best improved experience for Noobscraft and Noobstown community!

As many of you know the money and other things have been going on and off for sometime now. We are now trying to work on a fix for this.
We are sorry, but as part of this we have put the server into "maintenance mode" (Offline). We will be back as soon as we have sorted some of the issues out.
Again we are sorry for any problems this may have caused, we will be back soon!Open. We are finishing up maintenance and have now added new and fixed MCMMO Abilities! we know that you were very eager for these we have also added that if you die from either falling into the void, or get killed in the PvP World, you will always keep your items, however you will lose your items if falling from high places and falling into lava, to keep the server as 'survival' as we can  Now we can all enjoy PvP without the risk of losing our items!
The money error will also be fixed, and you won't be put back to 50 Nbz again.
Again apologies for the inconvience, but we can assure you that it will be a better experience for you now on Noobstown.

As many of you may be aware earlier today we had slight glitch regarding some of the operator permissions on the server.
This issue has now been fixed and precautions have been taken to ensure that similar events don't occur again.

We recently updated the server. A few changes were made. - Removed the spawning of easter eggs! You can still get a prize from eggs but no more will spawn.
- And long awaited:
Spawner ChangingUsing spawning eggs you can now change artificial spawners to different animals. All friendly mobs can now come from spawners if you change them. All you have to do is left click on your spawner with a friendly mob egg and it will use the egg to convert the spawner to that type of animal. (If you want the little entity in the spawner cage to update straight away you will need to leave the area or reload though.)You will need to claim any spawners of yours by clicking on them with a mob egg (if you use the same egg as the spawner it will lock it without using up the egg), this will lock it so that only you can then change what animal the spawner spawns. You can keep changing the spawners to any of the animals as much as you want, but it does use up spawner eggs. Spawn eggs are available from the Points shop and from events! The following animals can be set: - Villagers
- Pigs
- Cows
- Chickens
- Sheep
- Wolves
- Ocelots
- Mooshrooms

The server is currently down for some quick maintenance while we try to sort out some major lag issues and issues regarding the lag created through the recent rollback of a town.
The server is likely to be down for at least an hour. We will post once it's back online.
We are sorry for any problems this downtime may have caused and we will be back online as soon as possible!
The PVP event will be rescheduled for the day of the main party!

Some of you recently noticed that the site had a larger more in-depth statistics about things site related. ( http://www.noobscraft.com/stats/). People commented on how interesting these stats were, so I decided to make a page listing some of the in-game stats. Simply visit: http://www.noobscraft.com/gamestats/for a large number of stats on the server, including leaderboards for the in-game skills!  Enjoy!

As usual, don't update your client if you plan on playing on the Noobstown server. We have to wait for Bukkit and our plugins to be updated to the latest version.
We'll let you know when we have officially updated the server to 1.2.4.

All newly registered accounts from this moment on, will not need to "Apply for Server Membership" we have removed this form and have made it much easier for our new members to become server members  . All you simply have to do now is: register with your Minecraft username on the site, and activate your email. This will then make you a member on the server automatically! This all comes as part of our update to connect forum accounts directly to Minecraft accounts . As always if you have any questions please just ask them below!
If you already have an account on here, but it isn't connected to an in-game account and you want to add this connection you will still need to fill out the form .
I hope this allows us to move forward even more and that it makes becoming a member even easier! - ItsLawrence

As you may already know, Minecraft 1.2 was released today ( http://www.mojang.com/2012/03/minecraft-1-2-is-out/). As per normal we recommend that if you want to continue playing Noobstown while we wait for the stable release of Bukkit, you decline the update; or backup the 1.1 version so that you can go back to it for the server! We will be converting to the latest version of Bukkit which is suitable for 1.2 as soon as we can do. Do not update until this point! (We will post once we have updated the server!)

Over the next few days (beginning today) we will be updating ALL site usernames which do not match their connected IGN. We will be converting all site usernames to match the Minecraft username attached to that account (IGN). This is to make our membership application system much simpler and also removes any confusion people may have regarding site accounts and Minecraft connections. We will then begin to phase out the use of IGNs and use only the site usernames. It makes it all much simpler to understand. All of those who are effected by this change will receive an email about your username change as we go through our list; it will mean that you will need to update your account password. (you can keep it the same, just the system needs to update it's encryption of your password with the new username)Once the change has taken place to you, you will then need to login to this site using the new username (which was previously your IGN). If you believe that you have NOT set a valid, accessible email to your account you MUST set a valid one as soon as possible as you will be unable to login once this change happens as your username and password may both become invalid and the new, valid information will not reach you. Some questions you may have: - Will I still keep my VIP/Veteran status?
Yes, these are currently both connected to your IGN and not your username and so will not be affected.
- What username should I login with?
Until you receive an email about your changed username you should continue to login using the username you currently have. Once you have received the email and you have changed your password you should use your new username, which should be your current IGN.
- Will everyone be affected?
No. A large number of users will not have to have their username changed. Any who do will receive an email with their changed information over the next few weeks.
- Do I need to do anything about changing my username?
Other than responding to the actions requested on the email; no. You could however post your username and IGN name below, if they do not match, as it will allow me to prioritise the more active accounts.
- My username and IGN already match what do I do?
Nothing, just sit back and play on Noobstown.com
- When will these changes take place?
Whilst I cannot be certain of the exact date that this will all be finished, the changeover shouldn't take more than a few weeks.
