Server Announcements / 1.3 Announcement

UPDATE: We have now updated the server to 1.3.

As most of you will be aware the 1.3 version of Minecraft is supposed to be publicly released tomorrow.

As a server we will take time to update to this version of Minecraft. This is because we have to wait for our server software and plugins to be updated, before we can go live using 1.3. As a result of this delay in converting to 1.3 we recommend that ANY player wanting to continue playing our server after the update has been made live, declines any update requests by clicking "Not yet!" until we have announced our server has also been updated.

If you want to play the server you will need to continue using 1.2.5. (Until we announce that we have also updated.)

We will try to keep downtime during the changeover period to a minimum however it is likely that some will occur.

I'll clear this up for you all now. For the foreseeable future lava will not be allowed anywhere in any of our worlds, this is not only an anti-griefing, but also as an anti-killing method. We would receive more moaning about griefing and deaths/lost items that we do currently get about the lack of lava. It doesn't matter if it is in your own plot because it can still be used for killing and griefing neighbouring plots/areas.

Lava is not easy to clean up even using our griefing reversal tools because it spreads and sticks to blocks which are near it. Thus we don't allow it.

If you were that interested in getting cobblestone you could easily go into our mining world and simply mine and mine a massive area and you would quickly get cobble. Or if you were really that bothered, you could fine a nice spot of natural lava and make a generator out of that.

We had originally planned to do some parkour as part of the event, however to make sure that it can be played on mass the course has to be wide enough for multiple people to take part at once. This means that the jumps tend to be very easy as we have to make the landing area large enough to hold enough people. Thus we decided it would be hard to do.

Server Announcements / Summer Events Begin This Week!

From this Friday we will be hosting a huge array of events each day until after the end of the month!

We have produced a simple events timetable listing events and times and dates for those events. These are all correct at the time of the page being published and may change. The timetable can be found by simply visiting http://www.noobscraft.com/summer.

If you feel that we haven't really put on an event in your timezone we will do our best to add something into the timetable to suit all areas of the world. Please just post below and look for changes to the timetable.

I hope you can all attend a few events and that you enjoy what we have to offer! We will be holding random unannounced events too so make sure you are online to see if we are doing anything!

You can purchase as much VIP as you want, if you want 2 months just purchase it twice, it just adds the time on.

We do not allow purchases of VIP under 1 month because we want to make sure that VIP actually has meaning as something that people have donated a notable amount of money to purchase; and we want to ensure that it keeps its level of exclusivity. The majority of our donation packages allow for the purchasing of at least one month of VIP if that is what you choose to spend Points on.

As with other topics we have had about suspending VIP usage for a certain period it isn't going to happen, etc. The process of making a user VIP is very complicated for our systems and so for people wanting to have it for 1 day or 1 week for example would seriously increase the stress on our system checking your VIP status and changing players between the different ranks. So therefore for now I can outright say this is not going to happen.

As for promotions for purchasing extended periods; this may happen however it would involve a change to our current VIP purchasing system. But it is a nice suggestion and may be something we add in the future.

If you want an easier fix than typing; simply go into another world (events/mining/etc.) and then come back into the main one and it will automatically align all of your chat channels.

This isn't going to happen. We are a family friendly server; everything which happens on our services should be suitable for all ages, this is why we have a strict policy regarding swearing and rude language, etc.. We are a community, we won't be segregating people into groups according to how mature we perceive them to be. It is not going to happen.

We do not publish lists of banned players. Bans are a personal matter the only people who need to know are the user who was banned, anyone directly effected by the bans and staff.

If you have been banned yourself it will tell you upon attempting to connect to the server.
