Earlier today Mojang announced the release of Minecraft 1.13 (Update Aquatic); as with all Minecraft updates we will NOT be supporting 1.13 yet on Noobstown. (We're still on 1.12.2!) Please DO NOT UPDATE YOUR MINECRAFT CLIENT or select specifically to continue playing in 1.12.2 if you want to continue playing on Noobstown. We will eventually be working to fully support 1.13 but this isn't likely to be happen immediately so if you want to continue playing on Noobstown for now don't update until we announce it's recommended to do so. If you've automatically updated to 1.13 and still want to play on Noobstown.com you'll need to use a 1.12.2 profile. To do so in the Minecraft Launcher select "Launch Options" and then click "Add New". From there against "Version" is a big selection list of all the different versions; to play on Noobstown it's recommended you use "1.12.2".  From there then back on the main screen of the Launcher select the up arrow to the right of the big play button, and select the new profile you just made. 
UPDATE: You can now connect to Noobstown using 1.13 clients. At this time we won't support any of the new features, but you'll at least be able to connect if you've upgraded; and make use of some of the client-only features.
This isn't a full update to 1.13 so there are likely to be some visual issues with things if you're using 1.13; it is therefore still recommended to use 1.12.2 if you wish to play on Noobstown properly. Further announcements will be made once we fully upgrade to 1.13!

A small post just to let you all know that from now and throughout this weekend on Noobstown it will be 2x mcMMO XP, plus there will still be the random 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO XP between that! Have a great Friday and weekend!

- There will also soon be some information about finishing the 7 weeks of 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO XP with some extra fun, so keep an eye out for that!

Starting from tomorrow (1st July) we're introducing a new contest every month for the top players in a range of different things on Noobstown for what they've done in the previous month. Only your actions during the month will count towards the top lists, so anything you've done previously will start again in the new contest each month! On the 1st of each month we'll reward the top players of the month in each of the following categories (with additional fun bonus categories sometimes too!): As can be seen in the list above we're merging the Top Voters of the Month into this new system; there are now loads of different ways to win prizes! With this change, voting returns and you'll still earn yourself 2,500Nbz per vote, but the monthly top prizes are changing (voting will be working properly after the auto-restart tomorrow morning)! What you'll be able to earn as a reward will be announced early July! You can view your current positions and all of the Top 10 players in all of the categories at: https://www.noobscraft.com/top/ and using /top in-game! With it beginning properly tomorrow (1st July). On the 18th of March earlier this year Noobstown became 7 years old! Unfortunately at the time we didn't have a big celebration like normal, so to celebrate this year; for the next seven weeks we'll be doing random seven minute bursts of 7x mcMMO XP! Plus a few other things which will be announced closer to them happening  . That's 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO XP hundreds of times over the next 7 weeks (until nearly the end of July)! They'll happen at random intervals, at the end of each 7 minute block of 7x mcMMO XP it'll then announce when the next one will begin! If you press tab to view the player list it'll also show you a countdown!Keep an eye out for further announcements of other fun relating to 7 years of Noobstown! Happy belated Birthday Noobstown!

Can you discover the secrets of the pirates, and maybe even save the world?The next instalment of KilljoyDivine and cruisinkiy's Royal Quest is now available ( with parts built by doc_engie)! You can begin the quest as usual at /warp theme, plus to get the Tokens you'll need to complete it use /kit theme ( you can do this once each day to complete all the different parts). You might also find some other fun surprises while this quest is ongoing too!

As promised in Saturday's Shop Update, further changes have been made to /shop: You now have the ability to purchase an upgrade for almost every sell-able item, to enable that item to be automatically sold as you pick it up off the ground! How it worksTo use auto-sell you must first buy the upgrade by clicking the emerald in the /shop menu under the specific item you want to enable auto-sell for. This will then unlock a new option which allows you to toggle whether or not that item will automatically be sold as you pick it up off the floor, with the money automatically going into your balance. There is no extra cost if you disable and then want to re-enable; the only cost is the initial unlock of the feature for each item. Things to note: - Having auto-sell enabled will prevent you from being able to pick up any of that item type; once picked up it'll immediately be sold.
- You should still be able to hold that item in your inventory if you pick it from a chest, etc. it'll only automatically sell if picked up from the ground. But be warned if you drop it, it might automatically sell!
- You won't get updates on how much money you're making, because of the frequency of things it'll just automatically be added to your balance. If you need to keep an eye on earnings you should use the manual selling instead.
- Different items cost different amounts to unlock, you can see the price if you hover over the item and in the purchase confirmation menu.

Earlier today I made several changes to mcMMO, hopefully positive adjustments to experience gains for the different skills. This included fixing gaining mcMMO XP for herbalism and alchemy; which you should now be able to do for both skills. As with all changes I am open to feedback and if you decide the changes haven't been positive I'm open to reviewing them again. To celebrate the return of herbalism and alchemy it'll be 2x mcMMO for the rest of the weekend!
In other news you can now ride natural horses, mules, llamas, etc. without them immediately disappearing once you dismount them! This also means you can now level taming using those natural animals too.
The chat filter has also been updated now to hopefully allow a little more wiggle-room with punctuation.
Hopefully you'll enjoy these things, but if you've got any honest feedback regarding any of these changes (good or bad) please let me know.

The Mining World, Nether and End temporary worlds have been reset. This time we're going to see if we can keep these worlds running for a little longer than in the past; the next reset will be planned for August/September (a more firm time will be announced closer to then). To allow you to keep exploring throughout the months and to keep fresh things going, the spawns will keep changing as per the recent change to randomise them, plus all three worlds now have a border that will slowly expand and will do so for the duration of the worlds. The worlds should end up massive by the the time it comes to reset again, so there should be loads of exploring to do (including the elusive woodland mansions  ). If it's decided that this is too long for the worlds, then we can review the duration at the time of the next reset . I hope you enjoy this; if you've got any feedback, as always let me know.

As part of future changes to how we're dealing with the temporary worlds; from today all of the temporary worlds (Mining World, Nether and End) will now have their spawn change to a random spot once an hour. This will continue to happen all of the time; each hour it'll be changed to a different spot. If you visit /warp mining, /warp nether or /warp end the portal will take you to a different spot every hour, allowing you to easily find new areas of the map and to keep the spawn constantly fresh! I'm definitely open to all feedback (good or bad) about this change, but hopefully it'll be an improvement on things allowing constant exploration of the worlds.

Earlier today the server was successfully updated to run full Minecraft 1.12.2. We therefore recommend that you all now play using 1.12.2 to get the most out of your experience; for now you can still connect with older versions, but this may change in the future. There aren't really any big changes for you to notice between 1.12 and 1.12.2 but it allows us to be up-to-date and means other things behind-the-scenes can be updated accordingly too. This also means you can now properly use the recipe book in 1.12.2  .
I have also been working on several behind-the-scenes changes to things to hopefully try and resolve some of the lag issues that have been reported. Please keep me updated if you notice an improvement in things.
If you notice any problems with things, or notice anything different that doesn't seem right please immediately report it to a member of the staff team or me.

I know that many of you have been asking for it to return for quite a while now. I'm pleased to announce that the Recipe Book has now returned to the server for all Members+! Hopefully this makes crafting for you all a lot easier. For now you'll have to be in exactly Minecraft 1.12 (not 1.12.1 or .2).

The annual Easter Egg Hunt on Noobstown is now under way! Over the next few weeks, when you're on the server, a message will randomly appear in chat when an Easter Egg (or other Easter related thing) spawns near you. You then have several minutes to run around and try to find the Easter Egg before it disappears. If you do find it, simply click it and you'll be given the Egg as a collectable head. Be on the look out too, because there might also be other Eggs around at random, even when you don't get the message. This year there are a total of 19 different things to collect (including 17 Eggs). If you manage to get them all, keep hold of them and let me know; there's a bonus special prize too! It's also 2x mcMMO XP from now and throughout the Easter weekend! I hope you all have a great and happy Easter!

Just a quick post to say that there is now a limited edition trader at /warp spawn allowing you to get the limited edition 2018 Cupid's Bow. The trades use Gems from /gem. Plus all previous years of Cupid's Bows should now work again too!Happy Valentine's everyone!

The last Chunk of the Month contest for the theme of Spooky is of course now well over, I'm really sorry about the delay in getting the results out. I've been through the entries, once again lots of great entries. The winner for October's Spooky contest is: eboniics. You see see the design at Noobscraft.com/cotm/ and it's in the screenshot below. It's a scary eyeball always watching you, even on the inside. Thank-you to everyone who took part in the contest...participation awards and prizes for the month including those for taking part have finally now been given out.
January 2018's Contest Each month you get the opportunity to submit a chunk you own to be reviewed in our contest, we're looking for creative, interesting and well-designed plots according to a monthly theme! You can find out about the previous winners at Noobs.town/cotm/. How this works: - Each month we'll make a post like this on the site and give a theme for that month.
- You then have the rest of the month to make design and build something in either the Wilderness OR the Town world according to the monthly theme, in a chunk you own.
- You then submit your chunk using /cotm submit while stood in that chunk. Then make a reply to the monthly post outlining your design, explain it a bit if you want to.
- At the end of the month (Early February this time) I will then go around all of the entries and judge which we deem to be the winner. Another post will then be made announcing the winner and all entries/prizes will be handed out.
It's very simple to take part, just use /cotm submit! A few rules: - Your build must be within 1 single Minecraft chunk (16x16), but height doesn't matter. If you're using Minecraft 1.10+ you can use F3+G to view the boundaries in yellow !
- You must own the land you're submitting your entry in, if it's in the Town world you must individually own the plot, and in the Wilderness you must own the land.
- You need to follow the theme.
- You need to actually build something, just submitting a simple few blocks to get the rewards won't count.
- You need to submit your design using /cotm submit before midnight on the last day of the month (UK time)! This deadline is automated so don't miss it.
- You need to leave your build up after the end of the month because we need chance to judge it!
The winner of each month will earn themselves: - A unique winner trophy for that month
- 100,000Nbz
- Your chunk showcased at Noobs.town/cotm/
- Your name forever listed in-game when doing /cotm contests
- 5 FREE Wilderness Chunks This is irrespective of if you built in the Town world!
Plus everyone who takes part will receive a participation prize and a free wilderness chunk (again irrespective of if you built in the Town world). Got any questions? Just ask them below in a reply or in-game! As for the theme for this month; the theme is Snow! That's anything you could relate to Snow, be creative though! You have until the end of January to submit your entry. Since I'm aware there isn't long left this month to get building, the prize (listed above) for entering in January will be doubled, including the rewards for taking part!

I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas from myself and the rest of the Noobstown team! I hope you all enjoy the holiday season, and that you get to spend some time with your family and loved ones doing something you enjoy. To celebrate Christmas it'll be 4x mcMMO from now and all of tomorrow (Christmas Day) plus then back to 2x mcMMO XP all the way through to the New Year! There is also a gift for Day 25! Remember to take any of the Advent gifts you've opened but not collected before the end of the month too! There may have been less changes recently to the server, but I've been working on some big updates to come to the server in 2018! We'll see you in the New Year!
