I like the idea of it, but from walking all over the map, it would be a massive undertaking, even with gangers digging the tunnels. There is also the issue of griefers, the areas protected by towns would be safe, but there wouldn't be much to stop a griefer from undoing all the hard work fast with a bucket of water and a pick. You may also have conflict with preexisting wilderness homes, or even new ones that don't know the rail line runs right under where they are building, or going to place a town as well.

On the whole, it seems good, and I would like to see it, I'm just not so sure about feasibility or long term longevity of the project.

Don't know if you guys ever looked at the PreciousStones plugin Water, if you have then disregard, if not and you would like the link to it to look at it then PM me and I'll get it to you.

It has various configurations for different user levels, and pretty much anything you could want/need to alter. So you place the protection block, create the field, and if so configured a general user could only place say 2 or 3 of those block, but a VIP could get more, and what not. It also has an auto conflict resolution so you cant have overlapping fields. Just a thought, saw one server with it that seemed to run well even with a horrid ping, and it was configured to use diamond blocks, so not a cheap protection investment. At current rates that would make a singe block almost 13k to place.

I agree it would be nice, my tower out in the wilderness would never fit within the 4 plots you can own as part of a town, and not may towns would allow such a tall or expansive construction. It's simply no way to make it small enough. Also considering I've recently had more traffic to the area around my tower, griefing has gone up. I went for 2 months without an incident, and now it is almost daily. So something like this would be nice. Otherwise I would need to make a one man town just to protect my tower and not be able to be a part of Oakvale anymore, which I would rather not do. Just my input though.

Hey Hal, the link to the group isn't working. It's giving a page not found error message from FB.

As I suggested with the initial project you could build it as a town outpost. You could build it in a preferable wilderness location, mark it as an outpost and still have the same towny protections against the griefers.

It's one of those things I am looking forward to, and dreading at the same time. I look forward to most of the changes, but I dread having to update all of my SP mods and all of my various texture packs >.<

My pet is mostly harmless, he's house broken and his size is only due to the weight gain from the de-TNT procedure that was done to render him harmless, lol

There is also the suggestion of finding a suitable wilderness spot and making it an outpost of a town to ward off the griefers. Not sure about the costs entailed in that and the limitations. May be somebody with more knowledge can chime in on that.

I agree, It is very useful while mining at times, so having it available in the mining world would be nice.

Is there any way possible for a player to be able to shut-off or ignore the new [Tip] messages? I've trued the /ignore command, and tried leaving all the channels as well to no avail. They wouldn't be so bad if they didn't pop up so frequently or constantly repeat, but as is they are annoying the **** out of me. I'm too ADD to have bright yellow messages constantly drawing my attention every other minute.
