Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Allowing Normal Pistons
« on: 27 Nov 2012, 23:47:57 »
I really wish Mojang would pull it's head out it's backside and fix them. I could use pistons more than stinkin' potatoes and carrots, lol I dont even eat my veggies IRL, and I'm certainly not gonna bother with pixel ones, >.>

That would also make for a quick way to tell the actual offenders then. Actually trying to use words off the banned list would be the only way to get the asterisk in chat then.

It's kinda like towney protections, but the only people on the server that can access WorldGUard are the Admins, meaning THEY are the ones that protected that mountain for whatever reason.

IF it wasnt WG'd I was going to start my tower complex there, lol The protections on it were all that stopped me back in my early scouting. It's the perfect mountain to carve a base out of....guess one of the admins had the same thought XD

Though I'm surprised you are just now noticing it, it's not a new occurance. That mountain has been protected since before I moved out there in May. Thats why I thought it was kinda odd when you started building your house, and then what would become Nexan there.

Emerald seems pretty inactive, you also have Pandora about 300m or so away from you as well, and my tower complex to your north, that may become an Oakvale outpost at some point, though that is still up in the air. So I guess welcome to the neighborhood.

Though on another note, you do know that the mountain near you is WorldGUard protected dont you? It was marked as one of the oddities in the area when I moved out there 6 months ago.

O_O OK, so it looks like my tower complex has 3, and soon 4 towns around it >.<

To think it was smack in the middle of nowhere 6 months ago, lol

Yep, and without the pistons all RS does is keep the lamps on, lol

>.< I just wish Mojang would hurry up and fix em. Redstone without pistons is as useless as a screen door on a submarine. And some of the things you can do with stairs now and pistons in SP are kinda fun.

Noobstown General / Re: Back to noobstown, what has happened?
« on: 25 Oct 2012, 23:13:47 »
So far your town is still there Mark. I was wondering what happened to you, glad to see you are back. From what I can tell it's still alive, but kinda at a standstill. I never see anybody online, but at least one of your TA's is still active I think, since one of the newer town members built a house near the complex outside of town. So Emerald is still there, and going, albeit slowly. Glad to see you back.

Mine is Hellsing, though I prefer the OVA's over the TV series.

I'd take a diamond or emerald block, or any armor made from diamond, just to see the look on a jeweler's face when I brought it in for and appraisal, lol

Noobstown General / Re: What is YOUR noobstown story?
« on: 17 Aug 2012, 06:08:45 »
Well I started out on the server new to multiplayer, but had been playing Minecraft since back in the old 1.5 days. Noobstown was the fist MP server I decided to try out after looking around on PlanetMinecraft a good bit, and I've been here ever since. That was back in March.

I got got started when I bumped into Beastified in Noobstown proper, he helped me out, and let me move in with him. I built my first tower out at his old site in the wilderness near Noobstown, and the remnants of it are still floating there, lol

It was in the high grief area though, and kept getting hit, so I wandered out into the wilds for a good bit, until I found the location for my current Tower and mountain complex. I worked on it, and kept to myself for the most part, until I started talking to Fish one day. He showed me Oakvale, and invited me to join the town.

I was kinda apprehensive at first, since I love building BIG, and the 4 plot limit had always been the reason I avoided joining a town, but I decided to give it a try. I built the Oakvale Creeper as a small town-home, and somehow got promoted to Head Builder/TA in town.

I love it there, they let me build massive things to my hearts content, and we have a few projects biting at the bit, so I'm having a blast. That's my story on here so far.

Noobstown General / Re: Rules
« on: 15 Aug 2012, 23:37:22 »
Air, even sending it in a PM will get you banned. Sending on on the server at all is breaking the rules. Had an idiot friend that tried to pm me his server ip after I warned him, and he was gone the minute he sent it, lol

If you're going to send something like that, best to just keep it to email, fb, or skype messaging to avoid any issues.

Market Place / Re: What Enchantments?
« on: 13 Aug 2012, 04:09:55 »
Unbreaking is my favorite to have, since it makes the tool last quite a bit longer

I also like the Fortune enchant on tools as well as a close second in the choices.

Welcome Minkz and also welcome to Oakvale as well.

We miss you too Linda. Hope things get sorted out for you soon and we can see you back online.

One thing you can try if you have access to a CD/DVD burner, or know anybody that will burn one for you, is to download and burn a copy of Ubuntu and run it as a LiveCD. Doing it that way you won't have to actually install it if you do not want to, and it may allow you to get to the server and play through the browser.

Also for that matter you could install it on your crashed laptop since it no longer seems to work for you. And if you don't have access to a CD/DVD burner you can use a thumb drive to run the LiveCD or install Ubuntu from as well.

Ubuntu is free, so it won't cost you anything on that one, and may get you up and running again. If you want/need any links, just let me know and I can send them to you.

Noobstown General / Re: Which ores?
« on: 7 Aug 2012, 23:51:22 »
I tend to just do general mining trips. Never after anything specific most of the time. I restock whats low in my hoard piles, and if I hit a cave system with my branch mine I just go exploring, lol

Towns & Nations / Re: Overpriced upkeep
« on: 4 Aug 2012, 14:45:02 »
I agree Albatross. I can see the upkeep prices as a way of reigning in the creation of new towns, but the new TP price is a bit steep. A round the map trip to check out potential towns for joining has gone from 20-40 noobz to 200-400.

With that being the only method for finding the location and traveling to the towns, short of knowing somebody in that town and TPA'ing to them, which isn't an option for people just learning their way around our server. That's just my 2 cents worth though.

Yah, just go up to the top here to "Community" and click "Game Stats". It gives the top ranked towns in Population Numbers and Wealth.

If you use the "/town list" or "/t list" command in game it will give you a complete list of the official towns, though Buckfest has now been renamed to Glasgow.

Not talking about something to create a town size area of protection fish, just talking about a mod removeable block type thing that creates a small area of protection around a singe structure similar to the towney protections to ward off griefing of homes and scale back the mods running around to roll back griefs. It would be something as easy to remove as a locked chest if it's in the way.

O_o? How is there no such plugin? I am looking at it's wiki right now, and actually just dl'd it, so I'm 99% sure it exists, lol I would post the link to it, but do not want to violate any forum rules by doing so.

And from reading the documentation on it, I fail to see how it would be destructive. It is simply a configurable protection block plugin.

Lag on the other hand I would take Waterworth's word on. I was simply asking if that was one of the ones that had been looked at in the hunt for an appropriate one that he had mention in his post, simply out of curiosity.

« on: 23 Jul 2012, 21:31:51 »
One upside on that Krazzy is that supposedly in 1.3 we'll be able to actually grow the wart outside of the Nether in the regular world, so keep a reserve for planting later, lol
