1.4 Release information
« on: 22 Oct 2012, 19:21:32 »
We are now running 1.4.2! Feel free to update your clients!

1.4 is scheduled to be released on the 25th of October 2012 (This coming Thursday). This means the Noobscraft servers will be outdated until Bukkit can provide a stable, safe and reliable build. Our aim is always to get the server updated quickly, but that's not always the case as this can run into problems. Expect some downtime on the day or a few days after release as we smooth out all the bugs/lag that may(will) occur during the time of release.

Remember! ~ If you want to continue playing Noobstown after 1.4 is released, back up your 1.3 file now. It's easy just follow this simple tutorial video.

Also, if you accidentally update you can simply swap out the minecraft.jar's that you have backed up

Thanks and Happy Halloween!

It may help to use the MultiMC launcher. It can be used to maintain older instances of Minecraft (like for our favorite server here when Vanilla updates) among other things.

Doubtful. Minecraft updates mean all the mods the server uses need to be updated as well, as does the server software itself. Sure, they usually get a jump on working on those updates with pre-releases, but it usually takes several days at MINIMUM to get complex mods updated. The 1.3 update of Noobscraft occurred a lot faster than everyone expected, but it was still several days after the Minecraft update. :)

For me if i go to the minecraft.jar and right click it and go to properties I can see the previous versions and take it back to the older version.

Hey everyone. Just thought I would pop in to give a little bit of information.

We don't currently have an immediate date on when the server will be playable for 1.4. This is because our server plugins and mods need to be updated before we're able to run the server on the new version. As such, if you wish to keep playing Noobscraft, make sure you have a backup of 1.3.2's .jar file before you update so you can flip in between the versions. Unfortunately, this is the only way you'll be able to play Noobscraft for the time being.

If you haven't updated yet, make sure to click "Not Now" when asked about updating to 1.4.

See you guys soon in 1.4!

Don't sit around waiting for an update, we can't do anything about it. Chill, relax, take a break and before you know it we'll be on 1.4. I can't promise tonight or tomorrow, we'll do our best as always.

Actually despite the fact that we updated to 1.3 so fast, I don't really think some of our plugins have even updated to 1.3 yet even though we're now at 1.4. So it does take quite a while for plugin developers to get things updated and such.

As mentioned before you can get something called MultiMC which also allows you to downgrade your minecraft, so if you've already updated you can just downgrade it to 1.3.2
