I understand building a new server and testing all the new plugins that are to be implemented...

What I don't understand is shutting down the old server before all that was done and ready.

The reason we shut down earlier than actually being finished was due to the server changes and data transfers, unfortunately we cannot do that whilst everyone is online generating new data.

Just chill people.  I can't count the number of times I heard people complaining they were bored while playing on Noobstown.  Seriously, go do something else while you wait.  Life is too short.

If you can't live without mp Minecraft, there are lots of towny servers out there to play on while you wait with all kinds of different flavors.  I have found an excellent one (no cursing, et al).  The moderation team is nice and I have met lots of new friends.  I'm having a great time.

Remember, the owners do this for fun, are busy with their study's, and I'm sure have other real life stuff that keeps them occupied.

Guys, remember, "It is often near the very end of the suffering when man thinks he can take no more." I paraphrased that, some famous person said it. Thing is, you're gonna be all impatient and mad about it and then the hour after you curse Joe and find another server it will be released. And you won't find another server. At least, not a good one.

I've been waiting forever and all my impatience was used up in August, now I'm sort of desensitized to it. I've been cured of my Noobstown addiction.

I hope to rekindle this habit ASAP just like the rest of you, but you get my point. Hang in there. It has been forever, it MUST be coming soon at this point. And even if we have to wait until December, I know most of us will welcome it even more fondly than if it had been released in July or something.

Besides, would Foob have released the Noobween promo if he hadn't had reason to believe the server will be up in time for it?

T'would appear you have proved me wrong. And I didn't even think about that, if I had to do what the admin team is doing, i probably wouldn't have it out until 2015.

Despite the delay in V6, I am sure that it will be awesome and worth the wait. My daughters and I have played on other servers and while they seemed great at first, they soon showed instability with crashes that wiped out everything and the server had to be reset. Two different servers were knocked out by griefers using TNT requiring a reset. After that, I understood why TNT is not usable on Noobstown. Other servers have poor moderators more interested in abusing their status than maintaining a good environment. I had a mod take a full set of highly enchanted diamond armor out of my chest and claim it as his own. It was 5 days before my report was acknowledged. I left that server, bad mods and an unconcerned owner! I like the frame work of rules, mods and active owners that Noobstown offers, and I am willing to wait.

All that being said- I WANT MY NV6 (Noobstown V6)<--said like the old "I want my MTV" ads, when MTV played actual music videos.

Yeah, that's one of the sad things: a lot of moderators anise their powers. That's also a great thing about Noobstown, we don't have tolerance for abusive staff.

I can say I've had a few bad experiences on other servers. I played on a faction server once and one of the people was a moderator and was promoted to admin in two weeks, but he was extremely abusive. There was a rule he broke saying admins can't be in a faction, but he was. He would hack and use glitches to kill people and take their stuff. He would force TP into your faction base and raid every last good item from your chests and you couldn't kill him cause he was in creative (again breaking rules). This is one of the many reasons why Noobscraft is my favorite server: it has a great community of members and staff alike.

You guys' must try to understand that, at least to my knowledge, they are making custom made plugins for this server which is chunky.  That means that they are building a modification of there own, which can't be easy for such a small staff team.  Along with every little detail to keeping the server running like stability testing, basic functionality, hiring a new moderation team, timing of when the veterans will get to start playing with advanced notice, planning for the release with constant forum q & a, communication with the other staff, and on top of everything else, their normal lives.

It should be here soon, and when it does get here, it will be one amazing version of Noobscraft.  So just try to understand guys. See you Noobz on V6. :)

1.7.2 bukkit development builds just barely come out and now Minecraft updates to 1.7.3.  LOL, too funny.

Bukkit has said that 1.7.3 is most likely client-side fixes, so it shouldn't affect their progress.

It's not really a surprise that 1.7.3 is coming out now. It's a normal update (this time) with pretty standard timing.

Having a Bukkit version coming out while the next version of MC is behind the corner isn't that extraordinary either...

Seriously, I hope that Mojang realizes they owe the success of Mincraft to plug-ins and plug-in systems like Bukkit. Minecraft would get dull fast if it weren't for the wide variety plug-ins available for players and server owners to use.

If anything they proved the opposite until now.

You are supposed to not look at the code, attempt reverse engineering and deobfuscation.
What you are supposed to do is use the API, texture packs, resource packs and console commands. Period.

When they added Dinnerbone to their ranks, given his background the community was expecting a change but that never happened... and we are waiting for a bukkit update every other month as a result.

First of all, the staff here is not affiliated with Bukkit or Mojang, so any information they can get, we can get on our own as well.
Keep your eyes peeled on the bukkit forums if you are really dying to know.
Personally, I would just say remain patient.
