Big Maintenance (Read 9045 times)

After having hard talks with our host we are having huge maintenance to fix all the lag/crashes and rollback issues. Sorry these past few weeks have been hell.. we are trying to identify the problem.

I wanted to say something in addition, but I couldn't find the right words. The point just is, I've made a lot of bad experiences on those "donation" things, just look at it joe, people are already "paying" for the server, as far as I know, someone donated 30 pounds... That person easily could host his / her own server.

The main reason the people are here is the community... we are not many, but we are kinda connected, due to minecraft, the server and the lag. :S

Okay, what I was trying to say is... I think you should have made that step earlier, I dont know how stable Noobstown V1 was, but V2 had to fight with lag issues as well. I do not want to say, that you are a FAIL0R ZOMG ROFL, but... maybe you get my point.

Also, I said something that most people got wrong ( the 3 week bet ). I'll define new, what I said: from a bet to a hope.

I hope that the server stays online straight for at least 3 weeks, because then I'm willing to repay my donation and double the amount (if you want to take it). I just wanna see that this server becomes stable and gets what it deserves, an even better and bigger community.

I think you got it wrong Nerzhal.

a) a donation is just that, a donation, its not like your buying something.
Its a gift, you should not expect something in return at all.
The fact that you are given tools, diamonds, etc is a bonus, it should not be your motivation.
A gift should be given based on past experience, not on future expectations.
look it up in the dictionary.
Taking back a gift is 'not done' were I come from.
Threatening not to give a gift back, is just, well, plain silly.

b) I doubt 30 pound would settle the bill for hosting a server, if it does, it would be an empty server.
The amount of effort put in by all the community members, admins especially is priceless....

first: would you "donate" for something that doesnt work? I mean, I donated and 2 days later the server crashed etc. second: I've never threatened anyone.

i fully agree with you dopehead. joe does what he can he cant help that the people that he pays cant keep their stuff up and running. and i can understand if he doesnt want to move to another server provider. because then he would have to start completely over again. btw joe ill be making another small donation shortly waiting on my drill check lol.

ooo and btw i have donated to a server that is closing and it sucks cause ive given so much to it but o well there is nothing i can do about it because he doesnt want to host and at lease joe fights to keep things going and not just give up. so ill stick with him and this server because people here dont give up and they love what they do. so ill donate even if the server goes down for a 2 week period i wont stop cause its the only thing i can do to help support this server wish i could do more but o well.

I edited while you posted, to clarify the exact point you got wrong.
Yes I did donate after a couple of days play, I liked the server a lot and wanted to help out.
My donation was based on the short experience I had on the server.
After I donate, I can only hope they put it to good use.
If they do, they can expect more donations.
If they don't. well then that's it.

And I believe you did threaten not to return the money, you basically allready 'gifted' to the server, unless things get better.

they basically took your money for nothing then... well, I consider it scamming. Read my post again if you think I've threatened someone. After the donations joe got, he can keep the server up for 2-3months for "free", he doesnt need my donation and I'm aware of that.

The reason to donate to something is to believe it is something good. You better look up the definition of it as well. I've never said, I'm buying stuff, although you DO (ingame money, jump etc.).

Again for you dopehead: I don't donate for something that isnt "good" (in this case: server perfomance)

Just to point that out... If two sides give something, it ain't a donation anymore, sorry to say that, but it is an exchange.
