Shouldn't entering skins that are just picked from a skin site be against the rules? You should really only enter unique skins that you either created yourself, edited to make it special, or got created for you only, not a skin you found on Planetminecraft or other skin sites.

That is just my opinion.

I would say that, except I wouldn't say "got created for you" should count for you, only for the person who made it for you.

There's not a whole lot of creativity in asking someone to make you something or finding it on a website, so given the most creative is supposed to win...

1.7 was a huge milestone for Mojang and a lot of their code has changed, this has resulted in delays with Bukkit because they have to catch up on all those changes. I'm sure they are working as fast and efficiently as possible, but for now we are waiting patiently for the release of a 1.7 build. Once released, we can prepare for our v6 launch (finally!).

I can not get my head around the fact that the release of V6 is in fact put in the hands of a 3rd party.....

We are excited to share the new server with you all, after months and months of development it literally feels like a life-time since things were normal here at Noobstown. Anyway, we do hope you all have a wonderful Halloween and don't try to miss us too much.

I am sure V6 wil be awesome, But I for one would have preferred a 'little less awesomeness' over a speedier release.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate all the hard work but I feel for V6 more time was spend on getting it superduper then was necessary.
The previews look amazing, loads of work and lots of hours must have gone into it, it shows, but maybe its a bit much at the current price it comes at. (read 'downtime')

Small competition

We want to see your most scariest Halloween skins ~ Post below your skin and a small description about it!

Nice distraction, but not what I was hoping and waiting for.
I am sorry that this post is negative, I am not often like that, but frustration is getting the better of me.

Can people just drop the whole "being disappointed" thing, after slamming my face a hundred times against my desktop because of those posts, its enough  :/ We know people are disappointed, but rubbing it in doesnt help either. Just have fun with what we have for now theres not much to do about it.
I might join competition myself once I got my skin partly fixed.

AdrianCavi, I believe that in the past work was done on the spawn while the server was up and open, they could and probably will this time to, so no need to look at the same spawn for a couple of years and no need to have a uberspawn right at the start.

Baatus, asking people not to complain when they are not happy about something seems a bit shortsighted.
"rubbing it in does not help", correct as in :  "they will not drop there efforts and change their plans just because people complain or are frustrated".
But thats not at all the intent of my comments.
I and perhaps others would just like to let them know, this is not the path I would like to see for the server.
I am sure Joe and the others are delighted when they get compliments, but I am also sure they can handle the negative responses to, after all the server can only benefit from community feedback, even when its negative.
Positive and negative reactions could, or in my view should enable the team to make better decisions.

Guys, is it really that hard to just not complain all the time? We know you're getting tired about waiting, but complaining all the time is just getting annoying.

Do you think the Admins knew that 1.7.2 were just coming out? No they most likely didn't, cause they were to busy working on V6 getting it ready for us, the fact that so many of you don't appreciate the time and effort the Admin Team has put in to making everything work perfectly for the release is just disgusting.

A lot of you are acting like the Teenagers that get everything they want, when they want it and how they want it, but they never say Thank You to the people giving it to them, have some respect and know that making a server isn't done in a day, and me & several others are getting sick of all the complaining.

So, some of us are annoying, disgusting, acting like teenagers, not thankful, not showing respect, and making people sick.  Got it.

Mostly correct, but...

Disgusting = No, I said that not Appreciating the time put in to V6 is disgusting, not that some are disgusting.

That is all, I am not gone be one of does people that start fights about V6 on every topic possible.

Thank you admins for putting so much time into the server. The amount of effort and time which has been put into building, developing and coming up with ideas for the community is outstanding. I'm even more amazed that you're managing to keep two servers fully updated at once, which not many admins can do without it being their full time job. (Thanks batuus for helping with the building also)

Take your time with these final stages.

Max, can you stop trying to make me and others look bad? That is all I see in you, a person that tries making himself look better than others, that might not be what you're trying to do, but that is what you're doing.

Now lets get back on Topic shall we, if you still want to talk to me like this Max, feel free to send me a PM.

My apologies if my clarification of your post made you look bad.  Thanks for pointing out all of my (and others) flaws and shortcomings.  I will have to work on those areas to make myself a better person.  If you have anythinge else to point out that needs fixing, I welcome your pm's or emails.  Sure don't want to get or stay off topic.

Hey guys,

Please try not to argue, we are better than that and over the past 3 years (almost) have grew a strong community of fun and kind players. I and other members of the staff team take full-responsibility for being late with the release, but when you are planning something which is going to last a whole lot longer than the time Noobstown has been around you want to make things right.

If we did release earlier and worked on things whilst you were playing, you wouldn't have the full experience and we'd probably have an awful lot more complaints if there were any serious issues with items/land and what not. As much as we've pushed and pushed to get this out, things have gotten in the way and 1.7.2 is no exception. We understood that it was approaching and we knew it would only be a matter of weeks before the release, but they released much sooner than anticipated. We were under the impression that Mojang would prepare something for this weekend (Minecon) since they have in the past during the convention.

Right now, we want to ensure everything is going to be ready in 1.7.2. We don't want to worry about all the implications of the new version of Minecraft ruining everything we've worked on for months. We are still yet to publicly test our new system, we don't know how they'll react and on top of that releasing before a version would effectively create more work for us, we are re-doing a lot of things that have been changed in 1.7. These include the saving of block data, if for example you had a saved chunk in 1.6.4 and the data was old, on 1.7 it could possibly not function correctly or break the system completely. We are not prepared to take those risks, after everything we've put you guys through with the changing of versions and losing items/blocks anyway - It's completely not worth the risk.

The competition is not a distraction, it is a web-side competition/event for Noobsween since nothing has been done this year due to the delays in release and what not.

In the past we've released things far too early or rushed things and it just hasn't worked to our advantage at all and those were much, much smaller changes/updates. I think our best option is to release when we are ready to, after all we know what is needed to run the server and how OUR systems function.

Again as I keep saying, I appreciate you all hanging around and staying part of this community. We are extremely thankful for the majority of your support and can't wait to see you all in v6

I'm sorry Fatnoob, but me and Max has never been great friends, and keep getting in to arguements, but I have told myself to stop talking to him, so that should fix it.

Can't wait for V6, hopefully Bukkit gets updated and all that as soon as possible =)

Oh all these teenagedramas and ever repeating pro/contra delay-arguments remind me about a question I wanted to ask:
Are there any changes to the good old ingame "Peace and tranquility"-function (aka. /ignore name)?
