Mining World / End World / Nether
« on: 4 Nov 2012, 17:05:18 »
Complete!

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delays on resetting the Mining world, we have been busy lately with managing and solving the bugs that came along with 1.4. We are now planning to reset the Nether, End and Mining world on Monday the 5th of November. This will be done during the upgrade maintenance to avoid further disruption to our service.

If you have any builds/chests in any of the worlds above you have around 15 hours to collect your items/blocks before everything in that world is reset.

Nooo I just spent like hours making a kingdom nether fort decoration and a blaze farm.
But it's worth it.

Hm, maybe the mainworld should be reset sometime too? Would be nice to start over again in a completely new world.

Never say that again! No overworld map reset! Please! Until there are new biomes.

If youre gonna reset the over world when there are new biomes make a "storage" world to keep our items in

If the main-world ever gets a reset that is my goodbyes to this server, I have been playing for to long for a world reset, same with Jaeger.

Bro, you need to breath honestly. I get what you mean by the long wait for the server but making a threat towards the Admins because they are making the server better is just out of order! Dude. Calm down and go play some single player!

If they do that, it's a reason for me not to come here anymore. I am not mining, selling, buying, building, and working hard with 6+ hours a day, just to have it reset.
It's happened multiple times in the past unexpectedly, true players have stayed and it's great. Sometimes having a change/refresh is absolutely brilliant, trust me. It's great being able to go out in to the wild, starting over like everyone else around you, like EmperorMyrf once said, it's good for competition, trying to race people to be the richest or wealthiest member situation in the community.. I get where you're coming from, but consider the goodness of it to, not just the negative ;).

Yeh JayJay! To be honest I agree! I think a new map would be a great thing. Your reasons are perfect too! I think they should restart the map!

Restarting the map would be nice as to clear up more room, but I would really like to keep what we have worked towards in regards to materials and noobz.

I dont think that would be very good because I have resently made a castle and it tokk a lot of time and patience to even find a good spot and i dont want to have to do that again.

If the main-world ever gets a reset that is my goodbyes to this server, I have been playing for to long for a world reset, same with Jaeger.

I've been here for at least one reset but I think two. Linda, JayJay, EmperorMyrf and more that I can't think of right now, have been here longer. I will be here through the next reset too. If there is one. From what I've seen in the past resets typically happen when there is a new biome that isn't going to be in world unless there is a reset. So far it looks like anything a reset would accomplish is already taken care of in the mining/ender/nether worlds. As long as people use those worlds (especially the mining world) and are careful with the map we have and don't mess it up to bad, we may get to keep it for awhile. I think this is the longest the server has used a map, today being the birthday. All those desert stripping operations don't help...

If a world can't even last for a couple of years, why even build in it in the first place? Why donate to get items to use, when it's all thrown out like it meant nothing? I've never deleted a world that I started. It's a 'world' after all.

Well, to be fair, none of the worlds you have started have had 21000+ users tearing at it for a year. I know you have worked hard and so have I. I would not be happy with a reset, but I would understand it. I have played countless games of Risk, each one taking over two hours to play. Every game has it's end and winner, and then it is time to start again. Anyhow, this topic is pointless since I haven't heard the words 'map reset' outside of this post and not by any authority even here. I'll wait to start the grieving process until I hear it from Foob or Waterworth.

There are a few things I have to say to this. For one thing, all of you people saying there is no new biome-there are no jungles in the main world as of this moment. Also, I think you all-at least some of you-have not had to deal with a town. Now, I admit that it might be a small pain to rebuild the towns, but, it is a real pain to be expanding your town, and find a giant quarry. You cant just leave it, so you are forced to fill it in. All these mines have just ruined the world itself and I would like a fresh start. I would be fine with a reset if we were able to:
#1. Keep our towns.
#2. Have our towns be credited for the amount of money that we spent on expansion.
#3. Are able to keep stuff we want.
#4. Keep town residents and ta's the same.

If the main world gets reset, I'd like to at least get just 2 things:
1. Warning and notification of a few weeks or more
2. Ability to keep either money or transfer items
