I'm thinking by this time, the IT guys have finally checked their emails. Having been informed of the problem, there is much yelling, finger pointing and CYA going on. Our true american style. BUT ... no one has really looked at the problem.
If they would, they would discover the cleaning lady accidentally turned the power off when dusting the server closet ...

The 'cloudsquid' banner at the bottom of this page is also not working, aren't they the servers hosters ?
Perhaps bigger problems then ?

Or its a telecom issue and no one knows who is responsible for the telecom since its all contracted to contractors who contracted to MOM and POP Telecom, who contracted to India, who subcontracted back to the USA, who then hired the original contractor........

Can confirm this, I work for a subcontractor of TWC, and we have at least 3 sub-sub-contractors working for us just on a single 5000 mi project.  >:(

The problem is that provider/datacenter issues sometimes aren't that easy to fix. There's a lot of connections going in and out at once and many connections also need to use thirdparty services on their way through (and into) the internet which you can't directly control. So you rarely just have to switch a cable or press a button to fix the problem. And if it's a non IT-failure (like snow breaking one of the early-20thcentury-style aboveground powerlines or the datacenters powersytem going up in smoke) - well you probably know better than me how long it takes to get a servicetechnician in the US ;)

I just hope the NSA (or in my case the local pendant) doesn't get too nervous by our sudden deviation of our profiled daily minecraftsession. It's cold and smoggy outside and these black surveillance-vans don't look like they have a good heating.
Although maybe THEY could figure out who is responsible for fixing the problem. Aren't they the ones supposed to know everything that happens in the internet? Maybe Double-O-Lawrence should try to ask them using his MI6 contacts.

Yea there are bound to be hiccups in something new like this. I am sure it will take a while to get all of the kinks worked out. We will just continue to wait patiently. I hope they figure out the problem soon though. Anyone for a good card game while we wait?

The admins are aware and wanting it fixed just as much as the rest of us. It isn't a server issue from what I gather, but something further up the line. Thank you all for your patience and bear with it. May I suggest a book?

I suggest The Book Thief.
I was not able to connect from Comcast for 2 days or 3 days and now this? I was looking forward to play Noobs while I was sick.

While the server is down, you can always play Foobs other server 'mineapoc' or have a good chat on teamspeak with other players. :)

Teamspeak IP: voice.noobstown.com:10667
Mineapoc IP:   Mineapoc.com

I was getting a 522 error showing failed connection between CloudFlare, based in Frankfurt, and Noobstown.com a few hours ago.
Connection from a US proxy was working fine, but it doesn't exclude a more widespread problem.

The admins can do nothing but wait until the host (and all the middle companies involved) will solve the problem.
If this is the same thing as before, they really have some serious issues on their lines.

Surely some service level agreement should have kicked in by now.....
or don't those exist in the USA ?
This kind of downtime due to ISP would be unacceptable in Europe.

I'm pretty sure there will soon be a mob of angry American Noobs trying to break down the doors of the Comcast HQ like Mineapoc zombies if they don't get it fixed lol.

It should have. SLA's do exist here, but you generally only see them on Business Class connections, normal home connections you're pretty well at their mercy. That said the SLA for the server farm should have already kicked into effect.

The main website address is noobscraft.com.  Noobstown.com is a redirection link which leads to noobscraft.com
Due to the server(and whole machine) is off, the noobstown.com address is off too.

Sorry, mine was actually a typo.

I went through the correct traceroute and checked if the host could be reached (not just the Noobscraft server) so there was no mistake there.

Using an US proxy worked every time, EU based ones temporarily showed such error since there was no connection past that point (Frankfurt happens to be the main node for most of central EU).
