Update 2.0: Noobstown
« on: 10 Aug 2011, 05:24:45 »
Version two soon approaches us, I am pleased to announce the the server players will be categorised.

Categories

Spectator

Spectators cannot build, destroy or have any access to any commands.

Default

Default is what you are now, you have access to few commands and are able to build/destroy.

Mayor

All Mayors of towns will get this name tag

VIP

Vip's are donators and help that help the server keeping running.

Moderator

Moderators are always online to help players, please ask them for help.

Admin

Admin's are server owners, they work behind the scenes and are usually busy.

This means the white-list will be removed, all new players that join will be put into the Spectator category they must then go to the forum and request for server membership (white-list).

All current server players will be put into the membership category automatically.

By doing this we can help the server grow, the more players the better. Although we do want to keep to a standard of safety so that randomers are not just joining to tare the place apart.

After update 2.0 it will be impossible for any random player to join and grief, they must go through our strict membership application.

New Operator:

We are currently looking for a new Operator from the time zones of:

CST
EST
MST
PST
AEST
ACST
AWST
JST

Up coming events

PvP RPG Battle - Waterworth

Adventure/Quest - Angel_Lord

Boat race - Fatnoob

Spectacular idea. I tried to play on a server one time but instead of using this system, they instead locked new players in the spawn area and told us to join on the forums before being released. I didn't go for it. I think we'll have better luck here by enticing prospective new players with the creativeness of our communities.

The spectator category is a wonderfull idea  :D
It will keep the safety of a white list, but with out one, and give new players sort of a "try before you register" witch is a good idea.
You never let us down foob  :)

I agree, any player that joins the server can now look around freely as a spectator. If they so wish to join our fantastic community all they have to do is fill out a quick application on the forum. We are also introducing a anti spam so that new player won't join and spam for no reason.

Might I suggest an assistant title as well?  That way people who are new in town know who to ask if the mayor is away or offline?

Just thought of it, this could be difficult because you have to give the title and some towns change assistants like they change socks...  So nevermind.

I am in EST. I am on during most of my free time, unless something with friends outside comes up, but that will happen rarely. I'd be happy to be an Op to help people.

I dont think that he wants people asking to be ops here, if u haevnt made an application make one, if u have youll just have to wait and see.

As an assistant i think a title would be cool just so people can see who is an assistant if they are interested in the town, but then again it really would be a mess since they do change quite often in a lot of towns. Not a big deal anyway, since u can just type '/town here' to see all the info u need about the town u are visiting

Assistants is a good idea although its going to be difficult to keep up to date with the latest assistants. Everytime a new assistant is made i will have to alter the permissions file and this could take up a lot of my time, plus mayors would get ****ed if someone still had the assistant title even though they left your town or was no longer an assistant. What i am trying to say is it will be too time consuming keeping up to date with new assistants. Sorry  :(
