Fishing Tournament hosted in your town?
« on: 5 Jul 2015, 16:04:27 »
Hi there guys,

As you know, I've recently started hosting the fishing tournaments. I've been asked by a few players if there will be different docks or fishing areas in the future.  I would like to say yes, but as time would have it, I am unable to build multiple fishing areas to fit the requirements this event has.  However, if the town mayors and staff would like to build a fishing area in their town that is similar to the one I have in Dracomere, i would be happy to host the fishing tournament there!  There are some requirements that must be in place for the docks to be accepted as a potential tournament area.

1) The lake or fishing area must be a reasonable size and able to host at least 20 players. (Where a staff member can sit center field and be able to see every player that is participating.

2) Fishing 'boxes' like the ones I have built in Windermere must be in place to separate players and keep things organized and fish going to the right people.  (designs may be different, but the effect MUST be the same as the fixing boxes I have created)

3) There must be a 'Fishing Hut' or starting structure to house all competitors before the tournament starts so that the staff members can check inventories, log who is participating, and make sure everyone starts at the same time.  (It is a good idea for this fishing hut to be in a centralized location of the fishing dock area.)

4) Fishing rods and string must be provided from a nearby chest shop at a REASONABLE price.  Something that even new players would be able to afford.  (Rods and string can also be offered for free by the hosting town)

5) Last, but not least, the fishing area must be reviewed by any staff member that is willing to host the tournament there PRIOR to being posted as a tournament location.  All staff members reserve the right to deny the location for any reason.  (Should you be denied, please submit a forum PM to me (gamergirlxo), and I will be happy to assist you in fixing what the issue is so that you can ask for reconsideration)

Good luck everyone!  And I do hope that some mayors will take up the challenge to build tournament friendly fishing areas.  Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via forum PM here on the site, or /msg me in game.

DISCLAIMER: Staff members (including myself) will not assist in the building or construction of the fishing area.  We will give advice and offer opinions at OUR discretion and if time / duties allow for us to take a look.  Please do not bother other staff members with your tournament area submissions, as this will default you to being removed from consideration as a prospect.  Exceptions to this are if the staff member is a member of the town in question, but no obligation or responsibility is to be placed on the staff member regarding the tournament area construction or planning.  I (gamergirlxo) reserve the right to revoke this offer at any time, for any reason without warning or notification to submitting parties.  This is not a contest, and all players are allowed to submit a location as long as it is within the boundaries and guidelines listed above.

Once our fishing area is ready, we're looking forward to an Autumn event with lots of rain and thunder in our little town x, maybe we will include some town x unique prizes? Enjoy the summer everybody.
