For real! Thank you for saying something. Some people do it every 5-10 minutes. I timed it the other day. I get it if a new user has just signed on, but it is still ridiculous. We need a limit of one ad per half hour or something.

If the same person continues to make the same message over and over or close together we classify it still as spam. I make sure if I advertise my town that more than 10+ people are on. Twisted is correct though, there has been a lot of "my town is better, let me advertise." Only reason I don't put anything on the forums is because not many check the forums.

I was kinda funny for a bit today as 1 person would post in game that their town is accepting residents, then someone else would post in game that their town is accepting residents.

We completely understand your issue, and have just put in place some changes which should hopefully reduce the likelihood of this happening, and we'll continue to monitor the situation. People do however have a right to talk in the global channel, and we're not going to stop them if they are including everyone and are following the rules, but we'll be asking people who do it repeatedly to slow down.

If you don't want to see the messages of particular users who are doing this often you can always use /ignore [name].
