Visiting towns
« on: 23 Aug 2012, 01:11:39 »
Hey there, as a personal project I will visit all the towns in this server; the town list is big but i have time so lets start.

Im writing this not to advertise any town nor to say which town is better and everything that I may say about a town is my opinion which may vary from yours so try and take things easy.

The first town I visited is Glasgow

let see how do I start this...Glasgow is an amazing town: right in the beginning you can see that this town was very well though. As you spawn into Glasgow you get teleport to its castle, if you think this is nothing then you are wrong!, the first thing you see is an impressive view of the town and its building (some of the houses are huge while others are humble houses). As any other town (rather a metropolis) it has its streets which are well-lit and wide enough to fit a chariot (sadly Minecraft doesnt have them), one thing that is vital for any town are the signs telling players where farms and the such are so this lead me to Glasgow´s farms.

Farms and Spawners
The first spawner that I found was the sheep spawner which is located nearby the spawning point (the castle), there are two of the spawners so its about 10 sheeps which should be enough to provide wool for the members of the town. After that I stumble upon something that was odd; a hostile mob spawners (zombies) well the spawners itself is not weird but the complex trap. The spawner is in the middle of a room which have water, as the zombie spawn it gets tranported what i can describe as a water elevator and later the zombie will fall and either die or take fall damage and the player can get easy XP and drops, an quite interesting trap. They also have skeles and spider spawners (they might have more but i could not find any other.  They have a lot of animal spawns but there was a portion of the town reserved to spawners such as dogs, cats, chicken, pigs and villagers and outside the rooms (the spawners were inside rooms) someone post it signs with warnings and instrucitons like "dont kill the dogs because they will attack you and kill you".

The farms were another thing that I like about this town, they are huge and whoever is in charge of the farms is doing a excellent job. As far as I know they have a cocoa bean farm, a wheat farm, sugar cane farm, cacti farm, mushroom farm, nether stalk farm and of course the tree farms.

Amazing Buildings
For Glasgow Buildings I visited Buckie´s church: the church is a "work of art". It is enormous and it remains me of the medieval cathedrals in which people felt small compare to the majestic design of the building. Buckie told me that he and other players build the church (I wont mention the names of the people who help him because im afraid that I might left someone out of the list), if you ever get a chance to look at it make sure to visit the Pyramid of Glasgow which is adjacent to the church and the Stadium, I wonder if they use the Stadium as the Romans used theirs. Hey guys If you do that let me know!

AFter a long walk in Glasgow I stopped and relax in their beaches, next time your planning a Minecraft vacation make sure to see the beach in Glasgow.

Well this was my first town and my first post. Let me know what you think about it and hey if i miss any important building that I need to see let me know (either send me a Pm here in the forum or /msg me in-game)

If you want me to go and see your town please post it here and let me know!

Well first off, I am very happy to see that someone has finally taken a real interest in Glasgow. It encourages me to grow the town and I have been getting an incredible amount of support lately.

I will point out a few things about the town you must go back and visit.

I don't know if you have seen the other animal farm, the town has 2 animal farms. The town has been broken up into 2 districts, the 1st district and the 2nd district.

In the 1st district:
1st district animal farms, I don't know if you have saw this one or the other, I hope you go and have a look at it is you haven't.

Zombie spawner, you have described this.

Skeleton spawner, similar to the zombie spawner but it has a much more interesting look to it, I suggest taking a look at it.

Spider spawner, needs a lot of work. It works but.. it lacks the look, if you know what I mean.

Nation building, now you obviously have not seen this building or you would have put it up on your post, I suggest that you go and have a look it. The building is not complete, we have been working on it for quite a while now. I'm hoping it will be done before I make the Glasgow town post.

2nd District:

Okay so I have just started on the 2nd district, it does not hold much as of now but it will soon be as big as the first district(thanks to joe raising the maximum land of course, thank you once again joe).

2nd district animal spawners, you must have seen this, its either the 1st or the 2nd lol, if you haven't saw one of them I will show you in-game.

The pyramid, don't quite know what I'm gunna do with this yet, I have some ideas but it will just have to wait.

The arena, this will be taken down. I will be taking it down and I'll be building a much bigger and better one, I have been working on this new arena for some time now in creative mode, I can't wait to start.

The church, to me personally, I love this building, I never thought it would turn out all that good but by the comments I've gotten for it, I was obviously wrong lol. I just want to thank everyone for their nice comments about the church and my other stuff, it encourages me to do more.

There's a lot more things in-store for the 2nd district, you just have to wait and see :)

There is more to see in your town!? Aweome!. I will be back today to see what I miss, maybe you can give me a tour of the town so I dont miss anything.  I saw some animal spawners but I didnt know that you have a lot of animal spawners so forgive me for missing those spawners.

Hey I'll go and check 2nd district before it was finish and I'll go back when it is done.

See ya in-game!

Glasgow Part II

As you read in Buckie's responds. I forgot to visit a few buildings but dont let that fool you, this are marvelous structures. I also forgot to see the zoo/farms. So lets start.

Buildings
Mr. Buckie was jumping and pulling me to see the Nation Building (it might not be the Offical name) and I can tell that he is proud of this building and he should be...but lets set the mood: Imagine yourself in Ancient Greece or Rome (your choice), you are from another town and you hear about the Beautiful yet imponent buildings that these people have build. Well thats the feeling I got when I was in front of the Nation Building, as you approach this building you feel small because of the enormous greek-like pillars. Then you enter and get smack in the face; the interior is magnificent. At both sides, made out of gold blocks(if i remember correctly) stand torch-like (sorry my vocabulary is limited:3) structure illuminating and reveling the sizes of the buildings. As you walk straight you will see the "throne room", guess who sits in the "big chair"? of course is Buckie and besides him sits TheMiddle13. I was dumbstruck and buckie said to me "hey lets see the upstair"...Buckie are you trying to kill me? just kidding, the building has not only the throne room but it has several floors, the second being the offices, there is also the soon to be VIP room and the party Room! Make sure to invite me in.

Buckie is planing more for his town, a new thing is the carnival but thats another story...

Farms and Spawners
I missed one beautiful farms in Glasgow, which its also a zoo (or that what I think it looks like), the entrance is big and you have spawners left and right, it has chickens, wolf, ocelots, mooshroom (sorry if i spell it wrong) and the most dangerous of all mobs in Minecraft....the villager!. I suggest you guys to go and check it out.

Last but not least are hostile mob spawners. Once again a complex trap for the skeles ("they go up a tube and down... kill them with one hit") and the spiders which is among the firsts trap made by buckie.

Buckie may be a guitar teacher in real life but he is,in my opinion, one of the best builders in Minecraft. Keep the good work!.

I think that is it for Glasgow unless Buckie or someone from this town want to add something.

So what town should i visit next? Post it here!

I'm definitely not the best builder but I am an extremely fast learner and very creative, my creative side comes from my music. I can only get better from here lol.

Looking forward to seeing your dragonFire report.

Thanks Buckie, I will try and make this post more interesting by  posting pictures of the buildings I see in the towns, so I may visit Glasgow again to take photos of the farms, spawners and your structures.

It might be too soon to say anything but i Know that you and Batuus are good buiilders (i think batuus is the designer of a stadium in other town).

The next post about DragonFire will be post either monday or tuesday

Yes, I'm living there. Hmm, what else you should not miss? Honestly, DragonFire is a big construction area, it change every week. 1 Example: There was a huge mountain next to the cemetery (alias known as the mobgrinder for the nation), within a day there were new plots for sale and a new party area.
But I like it so, DragonFire grows like a medieval town, not as an exact planned city with all kinds of building codes on your own plot. We also protect the old village. But I won't write more about the town, because you have to make your own picture  :).

If you think about the maximum size the town can be we are at 831/1250 so you can say it is really big, one of the biggest I think :) "That's what she said"

When making a post, there is a little button with a picture of the mona lisa on it. Its right above the smile bar. Also you can only place in so many per post, so you maybe have to double post or more.
