~Vote~ KochiraKoso and nation Yunaiteddo are gone... but other names will live (Read 7703 times)

hey all I started with KochiraKoso, made the nation Yunaiteddo and people liked it,
but its a new server map, a new beginning, so time for a new name!
I will ofcours make a new nation but it wont be Yunaiteddo

the nation will begin with 3 towns:
MorningWood
MapleForge
(former) KochiraKoso

but we know we will have a new name.. but what will it be?
we (the mayors of the towns) decided we wanted the residents to have a say in this!
so here is a poll with names for the town and nation
suggestions are welcome and will be added to the poll if we all like the name and think its catchy (so start thinking!

).

the winning 2 suggestions (1 from the town names and 1 from the nation names) will be chosen as the new names!
so vote now, or leave a comment with a suggestion

votes:
2 a person
1 for a town name
1 for a nation name
votes can be changed

the main line of the name for the town:
something with blossom
there will be a huge pink blossom tree in the middle of the main island
and we want that tree to be the simbol for the town

the main line of the name for the nation:
must be wood like
we dont have any names yet for the nation so we will need suggestions

So.... the townsfolk don't get any say in this at all then? You said it's up to the community but then you give a big list of things the name has to have. You're basically doing it yourself.

God gave us opinions so we could give them to others. Jus' sayin.

its just what I prefer
and Ill count the votes of my residents more then others,
but the whole community will hear the name sometimes, and I want the name to be liked so others want to join and the town will grow.

A town name should represent the townspeople in a community as
a whole. In other words, it's to girly. Ask yourself, when you think
of name you prefer, are you thinking about names you would personally
prefer for you or names you prefer that best represents the community
you are creating. In evaluating your choices using this criteria will you
better be able to chose names that those within your community will
identify with.

I still want it to be
Japanese
and something about wood because of the nation
and there are 2 trees that can represent Japan: Blossom, Bonsai
and bonsai is small
I want a huge tree that will be as a symbol in the middle of the park,
again: bonsais are small, so only Blossom is left

thats kinda how I think XD

You still don't really get it from what I see.
Blossoms are just really feminine for a town
made up of mostly boys, and is to be in the
future. I don't know many dudes would like
to associate themselves with anything
"blossom".

You should figure out the possible names
yourself and allow others to vote on it keeping
in mind who your community consists of. It
has to be something that both you and your
community represents. A decision like this is
made by a leader. By naming your town you
are branding the cohabitation with a particular
idea.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, I'm
just trying to steer you in the right direction.

I think a Japanese name isn't a fuss or a name with "blossom" in it. Linda is right about it being a tree, It's not that feminine, but I see how people react to it being more of a girls choice of name. My opinion is that she's chosen a good name, It's a nice peaceful name.
