I hope this explains it all Jay, just horrible to see what type of world we live in
I've been thinking about this for a long time, I just don't understand why someone would do such a thing.
The first event like this I can remember was Columbine in 1999, Two students went in and killed somewhere around 15-20 students and teachers. Since then these occurrences have happened way too much. It got to the point where people in my community were afraid to go to public school on december 21st (end of the world) because of student threats. Things like that just shouldn't happen.
To be realistic, the percent of people who lost their lives from a specific public shooting is very small considering the total amount of gun-related deaths. The majority isn't publicized. Only the unique ones.
Yep, but I feel it shouldn't take something as tragic as that to bring attention to an issue. Still I'd argue 20 individual cases are more terrible than 1 with 10 casualties.
And now, because that guy who used the gun to shoot all of those kids.. The government thinks making guns illegal will keep them off the streets."If making gun illegal will keep them off the streets, they should make meth and other drugs illegal too." -My awesome teacher from school
