Yeah, assuming someone build right next to you at best, also assuming that you had placed a beacon as close to the side as possible and keeping it in your area which is five spaces in with a radius of 50 and a distance of 2 chunks (32 blocks straight) you can affect 13 of their blocks in the chunk hence why you can't get any boosts because you would give them regeneration protection jump or speed without them wanting a boost from a beacon. Also why beacons are cheaper.

Suggestions & Ideas / Merchandise Revamp
« on: 9 May 2014, 03:02:44 »
Since Mojang changed their terms of use with their logo basically all of the merchandise on the store was removed.
I think many of us would like to have all of the items back as I personally would rock the Noobscraft gear.

Just not a wide enough selection now.

(Have any ideas for items? post in the comments)

And now I think the step that was taken to rectify the issue doesn't really fix the actual issue as it still is possible, although now a bit longer, to lose all of your parent animals. Not to mention the fact that it devalues the price of an egg as they are now buyable for 16.79 USD (10.00GPB) for 120 eggs.

Fantastically stated. The only reason I have gathered that there are no spawners specifically is the fact that some people had enormous farms that caused the server to lag in last version. I imagine it wouldn't be overly difficult to make a spawner system that worked alongside a dynamic spawning system so there are no 100+ mob farms and no one ends up losing their breeding stock because someone else near them decided to start breeding.
As well it opens up new possibilities, a town can now offer wolf and ocelot spawners for training taming (not sure if spawner mobs give taming xp) as well as cows, mooshrooms and pig spawners for food and sheep for wool. Not to mention xp grinders, all of this as perks for towns, which this has the possibility to only be allowed in certain worlds such as beacons are.
One would have to imagine that a series of spawners available to the town members would increase the likelihood of continued play within the town and interaction between the town members.

I take it you live there by choice ?
Maybe you should take into account that its harder to breed or keep certain mobs when you decide to settle somewhere ?

Considering I was purchasing land on the first day and have over 67 plots now, it wasn't exactly. Hmm I will wait here until some mobs spawn see what does and doesn't. It was more of a, ooh think mountain will be perfect to start building the Lonely Mountain. But I suppose if you don't have millions invested in your land then it is doable to just move.

That part is easy, regardless of where you live.

I can show you where I live if you'd like.

I imagine because it is a guaranteed point of spawn for whichever mob you choose. And it allows you to get mobs that don't normally spawn in the area where you own land, mooshrooms specifically and for me personally I am up on a big pile of stone with no easy way up other than parkour and teleports, Which unfortunately even with a lead leaves me unable to have any form of non-hostile mob farm. A spawner would allow players to have mobs that aren't possible in their land.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: X-Ray prevention consequences
« on: 15 Apr 2014, 18:22:34 »
I'm doubting that this is something that occurs overly much with lag as I have well over 250 frames per second and am relatively close to the server and have minimal ping. Yes it appears to be orebuscator and makes me think behind every block, specifically in super breaker, is an ore in which I would not break with a u3e4 pick and causes me to avert only to realize its stone once it disappears. Perhaps this isn't as apparent on lower preforming internet/computers but to me it is annoying at best and frustrating usually.

Suggestions & Ideas / X-Ray prevention consequences
« on: 15 Apr 2014, 03:48:38 »
So as some of us have seen and many of us have heard, there is a new line in the defense against x-rayers. Fore those who don't know any lag whatsoever will show the player all forms of ore until it loads back to show whats actually behind it (usually stone) this becomes more apparent with haste or efficiency perks on the tool or character. This small moment of confusion is not the most terrible in the world however when one uses their super breaker the game has changed. In a moment you may think your mining fdiamond because it will appear and the particles of blue will fall then the next you think you are breaking lapisuli then emerald then redstone then coal, as a person who uses silktouch for all ores other than iron and gold this causes quite a lot of stress as you are constantly attempting to decide whether to ignore pseudo ore or tell if its real and avert mining. I mine for money and is what I enjoy doing in minecraft as well, but now I doubt I will touch the skill. While I have enough resources from mining to sustain myself for a very long period I will now have to find another way to make money and find enjoyment. I would suggest, if possible setting the area in which the stone is turned to pseudo-stone about three or four spaces away from where the break occurred in order to not confuse a normal miner who doesn't X-ray, if not then you make see an increased value of ores and mined materials as it is an activity I imagine people will not partake as often and seek other means of money making.

You Can indeed get diamonds from excavation, it is not very common but I have gotten 3 from a super breaker so it's you will stay positive on diamonds even with a diamond spade.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Cocoa Beans
« on: 13 Apr 2014, 04:20:09 »
It's still not a notable amount to even be worth selling to the server, well as a viable means of money making in the sense of. "Ooh I'm going to go excavating because I know coco beans are worth so much." Sort of way I have thrown all of mine away but it is about 1/3 as common as glowstone from dirt which isn't a whole lot.

well, if u ever find one, run for your life
but as Lawrence mentioned I don't think that's possible, and if it is itd be very rare
If you put a spider spawner in the nether it has a .8% chance of occurring.
So not possible until we get our own spawners. So never =(

If you put a spider spawner in the nether it has a .8% chance of occurring.
 But just imagine.
You're running in a nether fortress all closed in, you see a staircase and a little bit of nether wart peaking out.
You're glad you finally got what you needed for your potions, now you can go back and make the next set of awkward potions.
But what is this?
It's a chest that you forgot to loot.
Maybe there's some diamonds in there!
You come up to the chest without looking off to the right where the corridor continues on.
Three diamond and diamond horse armour and an iron bar. Not bad loot.
As you shift click everything into your inventory you hear a scuttle near you.
A spider? How strange, they weren't supposed to spawn down here.
You quickly take down the chest menu and equipt your trusty diamond axe.
As you turn you see the face of a wither slightly higher than it should be. And then you realize not only had you not heard that with but it is on top of the spider!
You try to battle the hell-spawn but before you could even un-mount this terrifying jocky you succumb to the withering effect.

Side note lawrence if any mob can ride any mob then you absolutely must add a Creeper/charged Creeper spider/cavespider Jockey to one of the Mob Arenas!

don't know the actual price, which is not 100k+
[/quote]

You're right, some people don't know the actual price.
Some people need to know the economy and difficulty of items to obtain =)

24
20 - 30k is a better price.

If you think that hunting and killing enough wither skeletons to make a wither and then kill it is worth 20-30k then the amount of people who will do it will be basically zero as mining will be far faster money and then as people earn more money and create towns and want beacons there will be no one to supply them as it is not worth the effort to get them. Think about what you are saying you are valuing about 4 hours of work at about 5-7ish k per hour. Think of how ridiculous that is. There is a difference between something you would like to pay (like I would love to pay 7 nbz for diamond ore) and the actual price of an item. I highly doubt people will sell diamond ore to me and I highly doubt people will sell beacons to you. But if you want to sell them to me for that price I have cash for 11 and I can liquidate my diamonds to buy another 100+ if you'd like to set that up =)

Fun fact, wither skulls are considered Rare Drops on the wiki!
