Hello Fellow Noobs,

Our oakvale staff would like to give you an update on the progress of Oakvale

and the plans we intend to implement as soon as we possibly can. (only the ones

that aren't a secret, at least)

Unfortunately, we aren't recruiting residents as of yet as we are still working

on plots and setting up all of the town amenities, rules, town staff hiring,

and getting our own forums back up and running.

Here is a list of things that we will have to the town when it becomes available to

the public (or ASAP):

- A greenhouse with water drops to multiple levels of farms of all kinds.

- Blacksmith, enchanting table, Brewing Stations, and furnaces for your use.

- PO boxes inside the Town Hall for free repairs

- Large Scale Projects coming soon (details of these will come later)

- A zoo for members to use and benefit from.

- A market place near spawn on the right and left side when you first teleport

to town.

- The renowned Oakvale Dance club for fellow town members and nation members. We

like to party!

- Jobs around town (will be posted either in the Town Hall or near spawn in

front of the town hall)

- Map of the town (will be inside the town hall)

- Town Outposts for more plots and for faster access around town (will be open

as soon as we raise the money/ get the money donated to the town)

- PVP arena for when we feel we need to take out some frustration, for fun, or

for competitions the town or the nation holds.

- A whole area for Embassy Plots (nation is our first priority, then comes

people outside the nation)

- A graveyard for people who have got permanently banned or quit playing

- A church for where people can donate to Charity for the poor, where we could

have a church service, and for weddings.

- Lots of Events to come (horse racing, mazes, pvp competitions, building

competitions for architect, and dance competitions)

Thank you once again for your support of Oakvale. We will never be able to

complete all of these things without the support from our staff members and

fellow oakvalians, so if you ever want to help just ask any of the town staff

(listed above).  Hope to see all of you soon and long live Oakvale!

Thank you,

Fish_james

im glad you cut the voting rewards down from 5k to 1.5k :)

Why? If the economy is meant to be 10x then the reward is effectively half from the last version.
Seems to go against previously stated intentions since towns cost 10x what they did (I think). Seems like something not to be happy about...

Actually no it's not 10x what towns costed in v5. Towns costed around 200k i believe in v5 when I bought my town. It could've been more at the end, not sure.  Now, towns cost 850k.  That's not even 5 times the cost.  And town outposts, costs just a little over 4 times as much as in v5.  from 100k, to 425k now in v6.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Better VIP kit armor
« on: 4 Mar 2014, 13:31:39 »
Well again  I agree with XXZEPHARXX so there should be no need to be saying his ideas are stupid and outragious, it's just a suggestion.

I think I would agree to have some sort of protection on the leather because I have died a couple times in caves while wearing the armor, as if i had my NORMAL diamond enchanted armor on, i would've been perfectly fine. Protection 1 would be fine I think and isn't overpowering.  And If not that, I think having the VIP armor at LEAST as even stats as the veteran armor is fair. I mean, if a VIP isn't a veteran, why would you wear veteran armor? I'm both, but some people aren't.

I also agree that saying veterans worked harder for it isn't quite accurate either. Yes, I'm veteran, but it was given to me. As it was to a lot of people. And there were a lot more long term players that stopped playing for a while and wasn't donated veteran.  And a lot of people DID grind the last month or two to get the veteran rank.  So I think all in all, there is always going to be that grey area when it comes to it being fair or not or who 'earned it'. But I think earning money irl and paying it on a server is earning it just as much as a Vet that grinded skills the whole last month. But that's just my opinion. :)

Thanks,

Fish_James

Noobstown General / Re: Server Crash?
« on: 28 Feb 2014, 23:52:13 »
Yeah the server is down i can't connect either. From past times, at least in V5, you were teleported outside and weren't killed if it was reset while you were inside the mining world. But I doubt the mining world is being reset, as the admins probably are in bed at the moment. Also, they usually give a minute or two warning before shutting down the server if it's intentional.  I think it just crashed.

I can say even though i have a large farm, the food depletion bug is brutal.  It's annoying and i've felt i've gone through a stack of food relatively fast.  hope it's fixed soon, I'm sure Jeb will do a great job, however!

People that say that the poor will get more poor with this,  I disagree with.  Anyone cam get diamonds relatively easy if you know how to get diamonds.    Any new player could get diamonds within the first couple hours or so in reality, If you do it right

Noobstown General / Re: Voting
« on: 7 Feb 2014, 18:35:04 »
From what i've heard, all veterans/staff/VIP will be able to get on at once. Just like the old times, when the time hits 000 then simply log into the multiplayer server using the address like before.  It's just whitelisted is all, so if you're a veteran, you're able to log on.

Does anyone know if a default xbox live headphone set will work?  I had a 80 dollar headset that my ex girlfriends dog chewed up (she refused to get me a new one too so i'm out of luck) so this is my only option.....

« on: 7 Feb 2014, 15:56:31 »
Fatnoob does the /back command include /back on death? Just wondered because they were listed separately in the vip information post.

If the fact remains that /back works like v5 /back worked, then yes, you can do /back to get your items back if the unfortunate death happens.

There is no reason why it wouldn't work the same. Regardless, it's a fantastic perk.

Question:

When you do the command /wild chunk lock, can you unlock it somehow, or is it permanent?

Guides / Re: V6: Wilderness Guide
« on: 7 Feb 2014, 15:19:55 »
Since this is about the Wilderness world I was wondering... Will there be a Mining world at the start? Or does it take time to get ready? Do we have to start off with mining in the wild?

I personally asked fatnoob about this not too long ago, and he said there will be  a mining world, nether, the end, WILD world, and TOWN world.  So yeah, there should be a mining world upon release.

« on: 6 Feb 2014, 19:05:17 »
I'm still happy we got stained glass and horses.  Though I miss the unicorn and pegasus from mo creatures (i know too overpowered).  But overall this update will be a great addition.  One of the best things about minecraft is the variation you can do with redstone to let peoples idea's flow more fluidly, and this update will keep adding on to that concept.

If I had to choose to add anything else, vertical slabs would be nice, as well as animals in the sea aside from a squid (a shark for danger possibly? I'll leave that up to them, since they've basically said that is coming soon).  Although it might be too much bandwidth (or whatever makes the FPS drop a lot), I think smart moving mod (the diving, or crawing or basic swimming) would be an awesome addition to the game.   I would love to see some functions from Optifine added in as well, at least the zoom haha.

I've Changed a little of my plans at least at the beginning.....

To make 850k to get a town, and to get lots and lots and lots of Quartz and Brick Blocks (a chest of each)

Server Announcements / Re: Making Money in V6: Economy talk!
« on: 3 Feb 2014, 07:05:16 »
so basically at the beginning, if towns cost 850k, then the server shop will buy junk items for a considerable more amount of noobz right at first?  The reason I'm a little confused is if it costs nearly a million to make a town, shouldn't voting for the server be more than 500 nbz since everything else in price is going up?

24
My question was the same as FlammableCow's one and the doubt raised is valid: how are we going to generate money?

Barters and jobs don't generate money, they just move it around.

So far the only listed way to generate noobz is killing monsters and doing quests (whatever they'll require) and it's a bit limiting in gameplay choices (and time required too).
If your main focus in the game isn't killing stuff and exploring ruins, you won't be able to do much else on your own.

If killing monsters for noobz is not going to inflate the economy neither should farming with the same ratio of effort/gain.

This just came out a couple minutes ago, it will explain that we will have a server shop to sell to and a lot of other stuff with a video.
