Terraforming is a good idea, but there are many other factors you would have to deal with. Temperature fluctuations, soil fertility, gravitational fields, etc. Then there is the terrain you would have to deal with. I think humanity's best bet would be to research those and build new tech.

I'm quite glad you made this update. The frustration within players has definitely got outta hand and I have a feeling that no matter what you say, people won't care but I hope that this does help some people hold on just a little bit longer.
I stand by the admins and this server and understand that releasing it too early would be a step in the wrong direction and I've tried expressing that to other players and being unsuccessful....this is exactly what we needed, was an update. So thanks foob!

And then boom and V6 gets taken away for another 2 months... I really wish I didn't have to get used to these disappointments, but apparently I do. I think server has now dropped from 5/5 to 4/5 in reliability and being able to stay open
If you would of looked at some of the posts, the transition from 1.6.4 to 1.7.2 changes world saving meaning you have a high chance to lose everything you built (House, farms, towns, etc.) and start from scratch again, I think waiting for 1.7.2 is a better idea. 
That's why they have backup files. Adrian is right. Threatening to leave the server is against the rules. I understand everyone's frustration but let's remember to not take it out on the admins, mods or even now the prefects. We aren't perfect all the time but we were given the position for a reason.
As Adrian said, if this topic doesn't steer back onto topic it will be locked by one of us. This is not the place to diss the server or go on about why it's taking so long and how you're threatening to leave the server.
Let's keep this clean and fun. Even on the forums.
Since when was that a server rule? I'm just trying to express my and many others' annoyance about this! It's perfectly justified we've been waiting months now and we've continually been promised V6 would be out on --/-- and then always a delay. Nowhere in the rules do I see anything even remotely bordering "threatening to leave the server is against the rules". So I'm not listening to it unless a response from the admins directly on it is given and what they'll do about the server. I'm really still not all that... Accustomed to (or happy about) that new Prefect position, and even though you're staff I'd rather have an admin consult us directly about it.

Well so much for V6... I waited so damn long just to get disappointed time after time again... First by the admins on delaying the release so long (understandable but it took months longer than it was supposed to) and now this bull... I'm starting to get seriously ticked off now
Harry they are doing this for free. The world dosent revolve around minecraft. Go out and expanded your game library (like I have) play games on steam or the new next gen consoles. noobscraft will be public soon. It's not the admins fault. Heck I bet they are ticked off at how long this is taking.
Not their fault on the Bukkit thing but I mean for real now we could have already been situated and well into V6 if the admins had just released the server on the date they PROMISED us, but in 1.6.4! Mineapoc may be good enough for some of you, but it's not my type of game... And other Towny servers can't quench my thirst for Noobscraft

I'm just going to ask that everybody calms down a bit. The server will be released, all will be well, just give it time. There are certain things in life that can't be helped and this is one of them. If this post gets out of hand, I'm going to lock it. I would also like to remind everyone that threatening to leave the server is against the rules, and simply causes unneeded drama. If you have an issue with anything, it is better to speak directly to the admins than to vent where everyone can see. Please take this all into consideration and make sure you are within the rules with anything/everything you are doing. Thanks.
i hate to be the one to object to this, but bleh! i have read through the rules and im not really seeing anything on the "threatening to leave the server" thing. i would really like to see that rule, not trying to be a smart aleck or a troll in any way but i seriously want to see that rule, or just a copy of the forum rules...

Well screw this... I'm not joining noobscraft at all if we have to wit any longer. I don't care if bukkit is stable at this point or not, and if its really that bad to have a beta version, then stay in 1.6.4 until there's a stable version in a later update of Minecraft. I just want my dang Noobscraft, and if I can't get that then I'm converting to another towny server permanently. Sorry guys, but my patience has run out. They said V6 would be open by mid summer, that didn't happen. Then they said end of summer. Didn't happen. Then when V5 finally went down, they said 1-2 weeks until V6 would be up. Its going to be 2 MONTHS in less than 3 days. Im done waiting and so are a lot of other people and this news has made me unbelievably mad. I really like this server, but if we're going to continually disappointed, I'm leaving.
I agree with you, the wait is getting a bit annoying, but if you left now you would have waited for nothing, it's probably just a couple more weeks, chill out and understand that the Admin Team are trying their best to get the server up and running, but it's pretty much nothing they can do cause they have to wait for Bukkit.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind if they simply opened the server in 1.6.4, let us play till Bukkit is stable and Minecraft 1.7.2 Ready, then took it down and updated, I would more like a few days of downtime while they updated the server from 1.6.4 to 1.7.2, than being unable to play till Bukkit is updated.
Bah, by the time the Bukkit dev team gets a stable build we will have already missed Noobmas... And I've been patient long enough... I've been so patient that I've put up with all the previous disappointments we've gone through... I'd rather play on a server that's not as good but one that we can actually PLAY on then be stuck just thinking about how great it's going to be and then continually being told we'll have to wait another 1 or 2 months after being PROMISED that we would be playing on it by that time. We should already be almost 5 months into V6... If there hadn't been any delays, we would have been in since July! I'm a patient person, but when I am continually disappointed, I start to lose that patience. I'm at the end of my rope, and if V6 isn't open by Thanksgiving then it'll probably never open... It's probably not reopening anyways because if Bukkit can't open a stable version then Noobscraft can't open... And if Bukkit isn't able to produce a stable version, what does that mean for the server? I haven't heard from any of the admins lately and they can't seem to comply with our requests to just stay in 1.6.4 until Bukkit can come out with the next stable version. I mean really guys what's so hard about putting up a server you've already tested and know that it's stable in 1.6.4? All the other big servers are doing it, and look! They're just sucking off of the players from Noobscraft who are quickly losing interest. I'd rather play in an older version than not play at all. I just can't look at the positive side of this any more... I'm fed up with all of this. I know it isn't the admin's faults about the Bukkit 1.7 complications, but it is their fault that they aren't putting V6 up in 1.6.4 like the smart servers that run Bukkit are doing.

id like to suggest a game I play on another server its really fun. the name is Boomo (well that what the server calls it) and you are thrown into an arena with 1 tnt. the arena is a small square (idk the exact sizeage). the playing area needs to be 3 blocks high minimum and maybe more for spectators. with your tnt you place it and it blows the leaves away. when you place the tnt it becomes 3 blocks high, like the leaves. you objective it to blow away the other players and to be the last one standing. but by blowing away the leaves you can get carpets or powerups. for example on the server I play on if the carpet is red you get another tnt. if the carpet if orange you get more speed to run around, and if its green your bombs radius grows one block. your tnt will only blow in a straight line and it cant go through the bedrock
Yeah, I've played with him a few times on it and I have to say its fun and really addicting. It would be a fun addition to the servers. You could name it Bomb Maze or something
