Towns & Nations / Re: V6 Town Sneak Peek 2... Name Released« on: 24 Jul 2013, 04:07:20 »Yeah, when using redstone, avoid symmetry. Just try to make it work within the smallest area you can. You could remove a little more than half of what you have there and it would still work perfectly. Some redstone leads to nothing, others lead to the same lamp, and the double lined wires are not needed at all. Also depending on where the power source is, you may not even need all those repeaters. At most I would say 1. That was when I had to show that to Smith, sorry he has horrible OCD if it isn't straight he has a panic attack and starts getting really mad. I did look at the repeaters and I need at least 3. 778

I realize I could have made that much less (and I will when the houses are actually built in Utopia) but I was making it so everyone could see it had redstone work in it

Towns & Nations / V6 Town Sneak Peek 2... Name Released« on: 23 Jul 2013, 03:54:41 »
Some towns fall through the lack of leadership and inactivity, which leads to people leaving the town and the town losing funds, therefore falling. Some great towns have fallen from failing to update the town content, which leads to disinterest in the town, also causing people to people to leave. I believe that town members should always have something to do, and are the most important part of a town, closely followed by a dedicated town staff team. In V6 I will follow these beliefs and statements in V6. You may know me as the V5 Mayor of Snakevenom. Many have called my town for V6 Snakevenom V6. However, this is not the correct name. Without further ado, I present to you: Utopia!!! This is the city of the future, literally translating into "the perfect society." I hope to make the town (with help from my great current staff team and new recruits as well) be what its name says it is: The perfect society!
In Utopia, we will have many great features. We made most of these ourselves, but a couple we found in the original ruined area where I bought the town off of lukestar04. Specifically, the AutoLights (or where we got our first general idea for them anyways), our new town lighting system for Utopia. It turns on automatically at 13750 ticks, or just after the light level hits 0, and turns back off in the morning as the first rays of the sun peek over the horizon. Other things will include a horse racing course, pig racing course, parkour, PvP matches, spleef, multiple casinos, a huge business district, 3 different housing districts with their own perks (right at the town docks, near the mining caves, close to the events district) and a choice of pre-built houses or empty plots in each. Below you will be able to see the pictures of some of the town ideas. The roads in Utopia, made of stone bricks: Here is a picture of the AutoLights: A prototype model of the pre-built houses in Utopia: The outside front: The inside (first floor): The inside (second floor): The roof area with all of the redstone work for the second floor: This is only a taste of what is to come, as most of our other ideas are not perfected yet. Hopefully I will be able to perfect the design of what Smith and I call the "Utopian Shower Elevator" among a few other things in the next couple of days and put that on this thread. 780

Towns & Nations / Re: The new standard of living in V6...« on: 22 Jul 2013, 22:03:00 »No offense taken but I bet you're just mad with me because of the Thunderhaven VS Capitol conflict and because you've never seen me as a town mayor. Trust me, Adrian and Magic are going to be blown out of the water when they see our final product. This town is going to outdo other towns in almost everything. And as it happens I have a nice town in V5 too with 80 residents. It's called Snakevenom. Its so popular that I can't expand fast enough to get the people who want to become town residents a plot! I would say that I have a pretty good town too, cabby. Yes you did win that conflict because Capitol fell. And the comment about the town, well, the reason is quite obvious: V5 has been up for a year and a half now, and we just bought the town about 2 months ago, while most of the bigger, more successful towns have been up for AT LEAST 6 months, before V6 was announced. I see no point in trying to make Snakevenom the best town in V5 since V6 comes out in less than a month and we will lose all of our hard work. I see more in trying to get skill tokens so we can put them towards the town in V6. In V6 we will be one of the first towns open and from then it should be easy to start beating our competition. I bought my town off of lukestar04 and it was a ruined mess. But I figured out (with some help from a few other people) how I could change the town's spawn point and make the town much better. It now has almost 90 town members and has actually been doing quite well thanks to a great town community and dedicated town staff. So being talentedhas nothing to do with it. PS lets just wait until V6 and let the towns do the talking for us to see which town is better. 782

Towns & Nations / Re: The new standard of living in V6...« on: 21 Jul 2013, 01:45:25 »I wasn't going to say anything about this Harry, but you have forced my hand.No we don't take people's secret plans or special things without the consent of the person who made it. Take BIRDMAN's Connect 4 idea. We asked him if we could use it first, then after we got his OK, we changed parts in the design just so it wasn't copying his, just the general idea of the game which he said we could use. You did say those exact words, but I asked afterwards "So is that a yes or a no?" because I had been so confused with what you were saying and I was still half asleep at the time, and you replied "Sure". So I thought that it was a yes. To the part I bolded: No, we ARE trying to be as original as possible and would be using minimal ideas from other players. The district war system I asked if I could use the same general idea except make it a capture the flag system (Olympian Style, AKA PvP on) with different types of blocks for the "districts", or as I am going to call them, Town Factions. It might just be me, but I don't see that as theft. And BTW when did I ever say Adrian and Magic were thieves? If you'd look below: Yes Magic, we have chosen to talk as opposed to reveal. But why should we reveal and show to all of Noobscraft our ideas when we know people (Like you) will take those ideas and use them for their own town? It just doesn't make much sense for us to give away everything we have taken months to design Not to throw Smith under the bus here but its him who referred that I was staying out of it. I don't see Adrian and Magic as thieves nor have I ever seen them that way. Not meaning offense here, this was meant as a post for my town, not as an argument center over who's town was better and what we were going to do that would "Blow the competition away". I agree with Smith and Magic this is getting tiresome and if there is any more arguing I will lock and/or delete this post as needed. 785

No we don't take people's secret plans or special things without the consent of the person who made it. Take BIRDMAN's Connect 4 idea. We asked him if we could use it first, then after we got his OK, we changed parts in the design just so it wasn't copying his, just the general idea of the game which he said we could use. To the "aggressive competition" comment, I'd say its more a heated town rivalry. PS when you made that giant Imperium V6 sign in the mining world at its spawn, I thought it was pretty spectacular. But its going to be wiped out soon. If you had built it in the general world, it would be preserved forever in V5 museum world. We are planning to do something with this. *yawn* you guys keep fighting while i plan my town and not waste anytime. xD 786

The Difference!« on: 19 Jul 2013, 18:03:50 »Would absolutely love Veteran but from what's going on with the top 100 and all, I don't think I'm going to have a chance to get Veteran. I can't manage to get on the top 100 which is really starting to bother me and there's no way that I'll be able to get top 10 highest of a skill or 20,000 points. I am really hoping I will get onto the top 100 seeing all of my counterparts (HarryX11, deebles17, Olah0001 and zebra903) are all on top 100 (And seem to think that telling me I need to play more is gonna help). But I really like the fact that there even is a Veteran status in V6 and hope that I will be able to get onto top 100 (My best chance of getting Veteran) to get this rank. If he had plans (And I'm sure he does) to make a v6 town for it, you probably should get an Okay or something to take the name right? Just to avoid confusion later in v6. Yes and yes but I was actually planning for Myrf to be part of the company, and hopefully he will accept the invitation. And, there is a difference. You call the town just Empire. My business will be called Empire T&M or Empire Trading Co. or Empire Co. or whatever you want to call it for short. I am trying to avoid confusion here. 791

As you may have seen in my "The New Standard of Living in V6..." topic under Towns & Nations, you know that I have much in store for it, including a business district and a company headquarters in that area. But this isn't about towns and nations, its about the market. Well, today I announce what is nothing short of a revolution in the way people own business. I give to you: Empire Trading and Manufacturing Company, V6! Its a mouthful to say, so just call it Empire Co. or Empire T&M. The company will be owned by multiple people (I have already chosen, so the people know who they are) and will sell every item* for the lowest price out there! Everything from wood to wool to sponges and mob spawners! We will set up headquarters in my V6 town, and hope to put embassies in every major town by the first birthday of V6.
*Does not include bedrock or any material currently disabled by the server. May not include all items in the earlier days of V6. Good luck with your shops and stuff in V6, HarryX11 794

Towns & Nations / V6 Town Sneak Peek 1« on: 11 Jul 2013, 03:27:42 »
Ok you guys, this time we are going to release some sure things about our town in V6. Things such as:
We have a set flag (actually a crest shield) now, as you can see in the picture below (if it actually uploads XD). The town will have 25 TAs, 5 Co-mayors/Sub-mayors (The Head TA will be a Sub-Mayor actually so 24 TAs and 5 Sub-Mayors (6 including me as Mayor) , 10 Architects, and 10 Plot-masters. Note: This is just starting off, and we will most likely add more Architects and Plot-masters later on in the version or when we get to 250 members at least. The town spawn is going to be fully equipped with a Nether portal, some shop chests to buy cheap building materials and tools from (all money goes to upkeep and expansion of town), a rule board, directions to areas of town, a board showing all current staff members, and some watchtowers on the top so you can see the town (parts of it at least depending on your render distance and which watchtower you are looking from). We will have 4 housing areas, the sandstone district, the brick district, the wood district, and the stonebrick district (the staff's district). Each town area will have a District Capital, made of that area's said name. The roads will also be made of the material, and we will choose what district you are put in unless you are very certain that you wish to join one of the areas. The district capitals have a chest in them that will be closely guarded and protected with a flag in them. The 'flag' will actually be a bed. The chest is trapped and will set off a redstone signal turning on flashing lights within the town area (this will be compliments of the hard work on redstone done by me and Smith), alerting all members within town of the thief. It will basically be a "Olympian Capture the Flag" game, which, if you have read the Percy Jackson books or seen the movie, you know how to play. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is basically a capture the flag but people can kill each other to protect the flag. This means PvP is enabled in the streets of the housing districts, but please don't kill other members in your town area. Our town's rules: 1. NO BUILDING OUTSIDE OF PLOT BORDERS. 2. NO SWEARING, DISRESPECT, OR INAPPROPRIATE/NUDE SKINS ALLOWED IN TOWN. 3. DO NOT GET IN THE WAY OF TOWN STAFF WHILE THEY ARE WORKING. 4. DO NOT CONTINUOUSLY ASK FOR A PLOT, WE WILL GET YOU ONE WHEN WE CAN. 5. DO NOT BEG TO BECOME A STAFF MEMBER, THEY WILL BE EARNED. 6. AFTER TWO WEEKS OF INACTIVITY, YOUR PLOT WILL BE TAKEN DOWN UNLESS YOU PUT UP A SIGN IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE SAYING YOU WILL BE AWAY OR MAIL ME, SMITHB0118, DEEBLES17, OLAH0001, OR ZEBRA903. 7. BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR BUILDS, IT MAKES YOU AND THE TOWN LOOK GOOD! ![]() P.S. We are not going to release the name quite yet, but we will soon... 799
