Based on feedback the Top of the Month categories relating to mcMMO have now been changed; starting from this month (February) all mcMMO categories (the total and each skill) will now use mcMMO XP directly instead of the levels gained. All mcMMO Level categories have now been replaced with an equivalent mcMMO XP category; including Power Level which has been replaced with an XP total. As January's contest has already finished it will use the old levels categories still, but moving forward (including February) we'll be using mcMMO XP instead! Moving forward the rewards relating to mcMMO (trades at /warp top) will be adjusted to the new XP categories too, plus new trades will be available to begin with to allow you to switch from the old levels rewards to the new XP one. Based on feedback, hopefully this will more fairly reflect the effort put in to each of the skills. We're always open to further feedback and suggestions and will continue to see how the different categories work.
The Top 10s of January's contests will be announced this coming weekend.

Starting from the 1st of December we'll be continuing our annual tradition of the daily rewards and advent countdown to Christmas (25th). This year the gifts are spread around a special Noobmas town ( Merrytown), you'll need to search around the town at /warp noobmas to find the gift chest each day. Every day (until the 25th) at /warp noobmas look around the town to find the free gift for that day (it'll be clearly labelled with a floating message above it)! Just click the gift chest to claim the daily reward. Each day the new gift will open at midnight GMT (UK time) with different rewards! You need to make sure you open each box on the day it's related to otherwise you'll miss out though! There's a countdown timer above each box and at spawn so you know how long until the next one will open! Additionally this year there is a bonus reward available for all of you who collect the gift on all 25 days; each gift will include a Token which can be traded in each adding up to a special bonus reward. You need them all to get that reward. The trades for those are again in the town at /warp noobmas. Plus there's a new Noobmas quest available! It's also in the town at /warp noobmas! Can you help the villagers with their organisation of a special celebration for their town? Get started at /warp noobmas and using /kit theme!
PLUS it'll be 2x mcMMO XP all this weekend!

The Noobween Mansion Mystery has been solved...by a number of you! The mystery involved determining who killed Mr Bones; including establishing the weapon, motive, incriminating clue and time of visit for each of the 5 suspects! A number of you got it; the killer was Mr Brew! Plus the details of each are as follows: - Mr Brew used the Diamond Sword to act Revenge, he left behind a Trail of Sugar after visiting Mr Bones at 9:05pm.
- Mr Magic had the Lava, his potential motive was that he Needed Bones, he left behind a Footprint after his meeting at 11:55pm.
- Mrs Spell had the TNT, she wanted to Steal Candies, she left behind a Glass Bottle and visited Mr Bones at 11:25pm.
- Miss West had the Poison Potion, she wanted to Steal Diamonds, but she left behind some Spider Eyes, during her visit at 10:30pm.
- Mr Wicked had an Iron Axe, he wanted to Take the Mansion from Mr Bones, he left behind the Note, and visited Mr Bones at 10:45pm.
Here is the solution in the grid, for those of you who used it:  To solve the solution you needed to both work out the correct killer and figure out each different part of the mystery. The following people did that: For those of you who submitted a solution but aren't listed (didn't quite get it all right), if you'd like to know where you were slightly off then let me know.Rewards for taking part and prizes for those who solved the whole mystery will be given out this coming weekend! I hope you enjoyed the slightly different challenge for Noobween this year, I'd love to hear your feedback or suggestions regarding it, and if you'd like something similar or not in the future. EDIT: Rewards have now been given out, please see the reply below.
The Noobween Candies have also now stopped dropping. The trades will continue to be available for a few more days at /warp noobween, so be sure to exchange them in to avoid missing out. Plus be sure to check on the server again on Saturday and throughout December as our annual Noobmas Advent begins on the 1st! More information will be posted tomorrow!

Noobween 2018 is here on Noobstown.com. This year there's a mystery to solve! Can you help out and solve the mystery? At /warp noobween join in and figure things out; then once Noobween is over all those who managed to solve the mystery and submit the correct solution will earn themselves a share of the reward pot! Visit the Housekeeper in the mansion at /warp noobween using /kit theme for more information! The mystery is a logic puzzle than can be solved using only the limited information provided. You will have to do some hard thinking and deduction to work things out from the clues. Once you've solved the mystery you need to submit your solution at https://www.noobscraft.com/noobween-mystery/ to earn a reward. Rewards will be given out with the solution once Noobween ends next month. To help you out there is a logic puzzle grid which will potentially help you deduce things from the clues provided, available here, or as an image here. This sort of challenge is a little different and involves a lot more thinking than what we've previously done, but hopefully it's a fun challenge for those of you who want to take it on. If you've got a solution don't share your answer with others, it will ruin the fun for them and may disqualify you from being able to earn a reward.
Plus as normal we've got candy dropping as you do things around the server! Like last year, there are many flavours to collect. Simply play as you normally would and keep an eye out for the random candy drops! The candy can then be collected and traded in for rewards (including rare heads and money) at /warp noobween. The selection of rewards available might be adjusted as the month goes on so keep checking to see if anything there has changed. Be sure to try a number of different mcMMO skills and in different worlds to see what you can get  ; there are different candies for doing different things ( and they're not all the same actions as last year!) The Noobween Mystery challenge and candy trades will be available for the rest of October and into mid-November!
It's also 2x mcMMO XP this weekend (19th-20th Oct)!

The rewards for the Top Players of the Month contests (July so far) are now available! All top players of July will have received their prizes as a gift from me, use /gift collect to collect them. The rewards were as follows: - The top three players in each category will have received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place award.
- Every top 10 player will have received Reward Tokens which can be traded in for a range of things at /warp top. Depending on your position you'll have received a different number of these for each category; 1st place gets 10, 2nd 9, etc. all the way down to 10th who get 1. See below for more information about the trades.
- Every top 10 player will have also received a reward head for the month, each month this will be different!
Trading using the Reward TokensAt /warp top there are loads of villager trades where you can exchange the Reward Tokens in for things; some extremely powerful unique things, some common but useful. Reward Tokens are different for each of the Top 10 lists, each one having its own item, and a number of different trades. Some of the trades require a certain number of specific category tokens while others use "general" tokens, which can be obtained by swapping in specific ones. It's recommended that you look around all of the trades (being sure to check all of the multiple trades in each villager) before you rush into something because there are loads of different options!The Reward Tokens will be the same from month to month so you'll be able to save them up/collect them to try and get some of the more expensive things later on. The trades might change though so be sure to get things if you want them! If you don't like any of the trades available at the moment or have an idea for something cool that you'd like to be able to get through the Reward Tokens feel free to leave your idea in a reply or a new topic at https://www.noobscraft.com/idea/. The rewards should be something you want, so please suggest things if you think it'd be fun! Hall of FameIf you visit /warp top you'll notice a big area is currently blocked off, this will eventually become a "Hall of Fame" for the Top 10 Players in each category for the last month. This isn't open just yet, but keep an eye out for that too!
August Winners and RewardsThe winners for August will be announced soon, and then rewards for then will be given out too! Be aware that September's contest has already begun though!

The first month of the Top Players of the Month contests is now over! It's great to see all of the competition to reach the top spots in almost all of the different options. Based on some your feedback a few things have/will change in the coming weeks/months. Unfortunately due to external issues I've been unable to quite finish the complete reward options which were planned to be available for scoring well in the Top Players of the Month. You'll eventually be able to essentially pick your preferred prize from a range of options (with the more wins the bigger the reward, plus the ability for you to also save up month-by-month to get even better rewards!) (and you'll get a bonus rare head dependant on your position). This however isn't fully ready yet as was originally planned when the contest started last month; therefore at the moment for July the rewards will be slightly different; I realise this is quite disappointing, but I don't want you to feel like you're missing out, so everyone in the top 10s this month will get bonus money to begin with ( and then once the reward selection is fully available I'll give out the proper rewards for July too!) The bonuses this month for each individual category will be as follows: - 50k Nbz

To end the 7 Years of Noobstown celebrations and to bring to a close the 7 weeks of 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO XP, there will be a celebration event starting on Saturday the 28th of July at 9pm BST ( What's that in my timezone?). Depending on how many of you are at the event we'll be doing a range of activities including a drop party! It'll be going on hopefully for a number of hours so even if you're not able to make it at exactly the beginning be sure to check it out! Plus the 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO will continue throughout the next week!

Earlier today Mojang announced the release of Minecraft 1.13 (Update Aquatic); as with all Minecraft updates we will NOT be supporting 1.13 yet on Noobstown. (We're still on 1.12.2!) Please DO NOT UPDATE YOUR MINECRAFT CLIENT or select specifically to continue playing in 1.12.2 if you want to continue playing on Noobstown. We will eventually be working to fully support 1.13 but this isn't likely to be happen immediately so if you want to continue playing on Noobstown for now don't update until we announce it's recommended to do so. If you've automatically updated to 1.13 and still want to play on Noobstown.com you'll need to use a 1.12.2 profile. To do so in the Minecraft Launcher select "Launch Options" and then click "Add New". From there against "Version" is a big selection list of all the different versions; to play on Noobstown it's recommended you use "1.12.2".  From there then back on the main screen of the Launcher select the up arrow to the right of the big play button, and select the new profile you just made. 
UPDATE: You can now connect to Noobstown using 1.13 clients. At this time we won't support any of the new features, but you'll at least be able to connect if you've upgraded; and make use of some of the client-only features.
This isn't a full update to 1.13 so there are likely to be some visual issues with things if you're using 1.13; it is therefore still recommended to use 1.12.2 if you wish to play on Noobstown properly. Further announcements will be made once we fully upgrade to 1.13!

Starting from tomorrow (1st July) we're introducing a new contest every month for the top players in a range of different things on Noobstown for what they've done in the previous month. Only your actions during the month will count towards the top lists, so anything you've done previously will start again in the new contest each month! On the 1st of each month we'll reward the top players of the month in each of the following categories (with additional fun bonus categories sometimes too!): As can be seen in the list above we're merging the Top Voters of the Month into this new system; there are now loads of different ways to win prizes! With this change, voting returns and you'll still earn yourself 2,500Nbz per vote, but the monthly top prizes are changing (voting will be working properly after the auto-restart tomorrow morning)! What you'll be able to earn as a reward will be announced early July! You can view your current positions and all of the Top 10 players in all of the categories at: https://www.noobscraft.com/top/ and using /top in-game! With it beginning properly tomorrow (1st July). On the 18th of March earlier this year Noobstown became 7 years old! Unfortunately at the time we didn't have a big celebration like normal, so to celebrate this year; for the next seven weeks we'll be doing random seven minute bursts of 7x mcMMO XP! Plus a few other things which will be announced closer to them happening  . That's 7 minutes of 7x mcMMO XP hundreds of times over the next 7 weeks (until nearly the end of July)! They'll happen at random intervals, at the end of each 7 minute block of 7x mcMMO XP it'll then announce when the next one will begin! If you press tab to view the player list it'll also show you a countdown!Keep an eye out for further announcements of other fun relating to 7 years of Noobstown! Happy belated Birthday Noobstown!

You can begin the quest as usual at /warp theme, plus to get the Tokens you'll need to complete it use /kit theme ( you can do this once each day to complete all the different parts). As promised in Saturday's Shop Update, further changes have been made to /shop: You now have the ability to purchase an upgrade for almost every sell-able item, to enable that item to be automatically sold as you pick it up off the ground! How it worksTo use auto-sell you must first buy the upgrade by clicking the emerald in the /shop menu under the specific item you want to enable auto-sell for. This will then unlock a new option which allows you to toggle whether or not that item will automatically be sold as you pick it up off the floor, with the money automatically going into your balance. There is no extra cost if you disable and then want to re-enable; the only cost is the initial unlock of the feature for each item. Things to note: - Having auto-sell enabled will prevent you from being able to pick up any of that item type; once picked up it'll immediately be sold.
- You should still be able to hold that item in your inventory if you pick it from a chest, etc. it'll only automatically sell if picked up from the ground. But be warned if you drop it, it might automatically sell!
- You won't get updates on how much money you're making, because of the frequency of things it'll just automatically be added to your balance. If you need to keep an eye on earnings you should use the manual selling instead.
- Different items cost different amounts to unlock, you can see the price if you hover over the item and in the purchase confirmation menu.
I really hope this feature proves useful and you enjoy it, let me know of any feedback; good or bad. If you need things explaining further or want any help just ask too!

Earlier today I made several changes to mcMMO, hopefully positive adjustments to experience gains for the different skills. This included fixing gaining mcMMO XP for herbalism and alchemy; which you should now be able to do for both skills. As with all changes I am open to feedback and if you decide the changes haven't been positive I'm open to reviewing them again. To celebrate the return of herbalism and alchemy it'll be 2x mcMMO for the rest of the weekend!
In other news you can now ride natural horses, mules, llamas, etc. without them immediately disappearing once you dismount them! This also means you can now level taming using those natural animals too.
The chat filter has also been updated now to hopefully allow a little more wiggle-room with punctuation.
Hopefully you'll enjoy these things, but if you've got any honest feedback regarding any of these changes (good or bad) please let me know.

The Mining World, Nether and End temporary worlds have been reset. This time we're going to see if we can keep these worlds running for a little longer than in the past; the next reset will be planned for August/September (a more firm time will be announced closer to then). To allow you to keep exploring throughout the months and to keep fresh things going, the spawns will keep changing as per the recent change to randomise them, plus all three worlds now have a border that will slowly expand and will do so for the duration of the worlds. The worlds should end up massive by the the time it comes to reset again, so there should be loads of exploring to do (including the elusive woodland mansions ). If it's decided that this is too long for the worlds, then we can review the duration at the time of the next reset . I hope you enjoy this; if you've got any feedback, as always let me know.
