« on: 23 Feb 2017, 19:37:54 »how about temporary invulnerability to fall damage as part of mcmmo like superbreaker style?As wheatley suggests, this is already somewhat of a feature with the roll/graceful roll abilities as part of acrobatics in mcMMO already. Both by just naturally falling plus if you sneak as you're falling there is a chance for the damage to be reduced. If you do /acrobatics in-game it explains it a little more.

Great idea! I've got no problems with a feature like this being added, it shouldn't be too hard to do too. I can see the benefits from all sides; nice suggestion. There's lots in the works/planned already at the moment though so this likely won't be added immediately, but I've created a work item available at https://www.noobscraft.com/work/full/chunk-trading/ so if you think it's more important then feel free to let me know.

Competitions & Events / Chunk of the Month - Castles Winner & Next Contest!
« on: 11 Feb 2017, 11:27:37 »January's contest for the theme of Castles is of course now over, and I've been through the entries, once again lots of great entries. The winner for Janaury's Castles contest is: gazzer2. You see see the design at Noobscraft.com/cotm/ and it's in the screenshot below.

February's Contest
Each month you get the opportunity to submit a chunk you own to be reviewed in our contest, we're looking for creative, interesting and well-designed plots according to a monthly theme! You can find out about the previous winners at Noobs.town/cotm/.
How this works:
- Each month we'll make a post like this on the site and give a theme for that month.
- You then have the rest of the month to make design and build something in either the Wilderness OR the Town world according to the monthly theme, in a chunk you own.
- You then submit your chunk using /cotm submit while stood in that chunk. Then make a reply to the monthly post outlining your design, explain it a bit if you want to.
- At the end of the month (Early March this time) I will then go around all of the entries and judge which we deem to be the winner. Another post will then be made announcing the winner and all entries/prizes will be handed out.
It's very simple to take part, just use /cotm submit!
A few rules:
- Your build must be within 1 single Minecraft chunk (16x16), but height doesn't matter. If you're using Minecraft 1.10+ you can use F3+G to view the boundaries in yellow !
- You must own the land you're submitting your entry in, if it's in the Town world you must individually own the plot, and in the Wilderness you must own the land.
- You need to follow the theme.
- You need to actually build something, just submitting a simple few blocks to get the rewards won't count.
- You need to submit your design using /cotm submit before midnight on the last day of the month (UK time)! This deadline is automated so don't miss it.
- You need to leave your build up after the end of the month because we need chance to judge it!
The winner of each month will earn themselves:
- A unique winner trophy for that month
- 100,000Nbz
- Your chunk showcased at Noobs.town/cotm/
- Your name forever listed in-game when doing /cotm contests
- 5 FREE Wilderness Chunks This is irrespective of if you built in the Town world!
Plus everyone who takes part will receive a participation prize and a free wilderness chunk (again irrespective of if you built in the Town world).

As for the theme for February; with it being the month with Valentine's Day in it, the theme is literally just the colour Red! It's a different style of theme this month, but gives you lots of options. It could be a building which is red, something related to the colour or something which simply is that colour, be creative though; but also remember the whole entry has to fit into 1 single 16x16 Minecraft chunk!

Well I havent been able to get Minecraft to launch and I also havent been able to connect to noobstown teamspeak servers.This sounds a lot like an issue that you should be contacting Mojang about: https://help.mojang.com/.

I can launch the launcher and click play but the game crashes and just reopens the launcher.
Tried old java launcher(what I useded before) and new launcher

My suggestion to try and find your problem would be to possibly try and rename the .minecraft directory within the Roaming folder to something else temporarily and then run the client and see if it starts up, if it does and generates a new .minecraft then you'll know it's a problem with something in the directory you renamed. Have you tried deleting the directory which is fails to delete itself as Sesto suggests? Playing around with the files there should be done at your own risk though, my advice would be to contact Mojang if you can't sort it; they have a team of support staff who should be able to assist you somewhat and are more likely to know what the problem is; rather than potentially making it worse.
Is there a reason you're still trying to connect to Noobstown.com using 1.8? You don't get the server-side features, but we support clients up to the latest Minecraft 1.11.2.
-teamspeakSorry about this, I've restarted the TeamSpeak server and tried connecting on my end and it seems to work for me now. Please try connecting yourself now if you're able to. Let me know how it goes.
I can launch teamspeak and connect to voice.teamspeak.com
but when I try noobstown it says

I had a short stay in the hospital (it was all fine and about par for me) and that is what started my absence, but what extended it was something much better. Krishna (my wife) is pregnant 😁. She is on bed rest and we ( Berlin, Ronin and I) are taking care of her. She is due around the end of April and I hope to be back to some extent before or after that. I finally upgraded my old computer to a windows 10 machine and purchased windows 10 minecraft.As others above have suggested the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is not the same as normal Minecraft for PC. Only the original PC version is able to connect to Noobstown.com, not the version exclusively for Windows 10. You can download normal Minecraft at https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/; you can install it on Windows 10 itself just fine, but it's not the same game as the Windows 10 edition. Two separate games, we only support the PC version.
My problem is i can not figure out how to add this server to even play again. everything i do is wrong.
I dont know why but I cant even get minecraft to launch and I cant connect via teamspeak either.This is likely to be unrelated to the issue Cult_of_Omni was having. Is this still a problem for you? If you're still getting this issue feel free to make another topic about it, and I'll try to help you out.
The reason why you can't connect to the teamspeak is, that you need to be on the noobstown first...You should be connect to TeamSpeak even if you're not on the server. I'm aware others have also reported a similar issue though, if it's still an ongoing issue then I'll have to look into it.

Or could the castle be built in a 16x16 area possibly overlapping chunks?It can be within your existing chunks sure, but I will only be judging whatever you build inside a single Minecraft chunk so don't build outside the 16x16 area.

Server Announcements / Recap of 2016!

) so I thought I'd do a whole year overview post to outline some of the bigger changes that occurred throughout the whole of 2016! There's loads of things which happened but this post is only going to outline some of the bigger ones throughout 2016.Big Announcements
- 18th March - Noobstown became 5 years old!
- 17th July - Foob announced he was planning to leave the team!
- 11th September - Plans for moving forward with Noobstown without Foob were announced.
Bigger Server Changes
- 24th January - Added the ability to toggle tips.
- 6th February - Introduced Announcement Announcements in-game.
- 3rd April - We said goodbye to the Web Inventory
- 4th April - Changed lots of the ranks.
- 1st May - Allowed new players to do most things Members can!
- 2nd May - Introduced instant respawn and messages about the coordinates you died at.
- 16th May - Changed how hoppers interact with chests, etc. in the non-Wilderness worlds.
- 25th June - Noobstowny was released! This was the biggest update to Noobstown for years and introduced our own custom made town system to the server! This update had been in the works for months and months; you can read a list of the bigger changes as they were being planned at Noobs.town/noobstowny/.
- 14th July - The server Shop and VIP Shop were merged and updated.
- 21st July - Finally introduced Snowball Rewards! (/warp snowball)
- 22nd July - Everyone got more /homes.
- 30th July - Introduced /xpcheck.
- 10th September - The server was moved to its new machine & we said a final goodbye to Foob!
- 24th September - /wild free was introduced.
- 24th September - Lots of smaller changes to the Wilderness system were made.
- 24th September - Sponges were enabled for all worlds!
- 28th September - The Chest Shop system was updated.
- 30th September - Name changing was finally allowed! This was a massive update for many of our systems which had been slowly worked on for over 18 months.
- 2nd October - Heads keep their name after being placed!
- 22nd December - The Wilderness System was completely reworked to use the new 'menus' to make it easier to use.

- 28th February - We brought back the Top Voters of the Month contest!
- March - Party for Noobstown turning 5 Years Old!

I'm hoping great things will come in 2017! There's lots of changes planned in the works, and we're going to try and bring back more regular events, quests and themes, which is something that has not been as successfully more recently!

« on: 6 Jan 2017, 20:53:41 »I think vips or vip+ should have the ability to do like /fly or something. You could make it so they can only fly for like 30mins every week or so. It would be really good to see this as it will make it so much simple to do any builds/projects, such as guardian farms or redstone related builds.This isn't likely to happen anytime soon really. You cannot currently purchase VIP and Mojang aren't keen on servers directly selling things which give you a gameplay advantage. We actually trialed a temporary fly a few years ago now and it just wasn't as nice as we thought it might be; lots of smaller things to consider such as what happens if the timer runs out while someone is mid-flight, etc. Plus you can already get a lot of the benefits using /jump anyway. On top of that in later versions of Minecraft (which we will be updating to eventually) you can get Elytra wings anyway which effectively allow for flight in Vanilla.

I can understand your reasoning but this isn't going to be implemented at the moment.

Changing how the mail works is already planned and has been for a bit now. You can see (and vote for) the work item for it here: https://www.noobscraft.com/work/full/redevelop-mail/.
The idea of using a book to extend the message sounds nice, so is something I will definitely consider. However in Minecraft 1.11+ they did actually increase the chat limit from 100 characters normally to 256 so this might be something I need to look at too as to whether the book would actually be needed considering the complications of pages etc.
