Make sure to use iron tools. They gather materials much faster than stone, especially considering they take longer to break and you don't need to constantly run back to your toolbox to get new ones. If you're mining in the diamond levels (I like 14-16) you'll get way more iron than you use so it's definitely worth it.

Using the stock 16px Minecraft texture so my laptop doesn't sh*t bricks when rendering Before playing online, I used to run the photo realism one. I always get so confused with mining when running a new texture pack though and I use the wrong tools on ores lol.

Not sure if it would be useful but I've built a few piston doors (the ones that slide back and then sideways) and I also tried a couple elevator designs (server lag might be too much though, even a little screws up the tick timing of the pistons).

Joe, It seems like the lag is already getting better, maybe because of the dedicated box. I'm excited to start playing again, thank you! Also, Noobsville looks great.

IMHO, the shop should be filled with everything for players to sell. Then they should be able to buy supplies that are easy to obtain like cobble and dirt for a decent price (1-5Nz) and rare items like slimeballs for really high prices (250Nz). You shouldn't be able to buy things like glass or stone because they're easily crafted using basic supplies.
Lapis should be one of those things that can be sold to the shop but have a really high purchase price. Then you can promote people "shopping around" to other players but can also buy from the shop if no one has any.
