Site Announcements / Unexpected Site Downtime

Some of you may have noticed that over the last few days access to this site has been limited due to site server issues. I apologise to anyone who was unable to access the site over the weekend; things should hopefully be back to normal now.

These problems began a few days ago and continued over the weekend; they were caused by issues with the datacentre that our website hosting provider uses, and their team worked to resolve them as soon as possible. The site was simply not being displayed correctly due to network issues they were experiencing. At the time the problem was completely out of my control unfortunately.

Moving forward I will look into mitigation to try and prevent such a long period of downtime happening again, including potentially adjusting the hosting solution for the site.

Once again I'm sorry for the downtime; but things should be back now! If you notice any further problems with this you're welcome to email me at [email protected].

The Easter egg spawns will stop during this coming weekend (25th - 26th) so those of you wishing to collect them all have a final week to get as many as you can!

Once the egg spawns stop I'll be able to hand out the bonus rewards for those who have collected them all, if you collect them all and want the bonus reward you need to reply to this topic or PM me.

Sorry as others have explained (and is explained in my reply above listing where they spawn), the eggs won't spawn in the Nether World itself; as there is a roof on the world I didn't want to make finding them there too complicated.

As explained in my reply listing the spawning locations:

They can spawn in the Nether/Hell biome (which exists very rarely in the Wilderness/Town worlds in the volcanoes), and in mesas (which you should be able to find in the Mining World).

The eggs will only spawn in the Mining World, Town World, Wilderness and the End.

Server Announcements / Minecraft 1.14 Information

UPDATE: Since 1.17 was recently released. Please refer to the latest announcement for this at: https://www.noobscraft.com/server/minecraft-1-17-information/

Earlier this week Mojang announced the release of Minecraft 1.14; as with all Minecraft updates we will NOT be supporting 1.14 yet on Noobstown. (We're still on 1.12.2 for now!) Please DO NOT UPDATE YOUR MINECRAFT CLIENT or select specifically to continue playing in 1.12.2 if you want to continue playing on Noobstown. We will eventually be working to fully support directly 1.14 but this isn't likely to be happen immediately so if you want to continue playing on Noobstown for now don't update until we announce it's recommended to do so.

If you've automatically updated to 1.14 and still want to play on Noobstown.com you'll need to use a 1.12.2 profile. To do so in the Minecraft Launcher select "Launch Options" and then click "Add New". From there against "Version" is a big selection list of all the different versions; to play on Noobstown it's recommended you use "1.12.2".



From there then back on the main screen of the Launcher select the up arrow to the right of the big play button, and select the new profile you just made.

I know where their wilds and town plots are (since I'd go over there and help) so I used my elyctra and flew over and I saw I was spelling the name correctly. Did these people get removed or is the command not functioning correctly? It used to work even if they're online. (In case your wondering, I did it so I could see if they were on recently and I wasn't so I could see if they still played)

Edit: Same things with gifts. Tried sending it an active player and it said they have to be online before to be able to send a gift.
This appears to be a bit of a bug with how we're processing requests for users that haven't been on since they've updated their Minecraft username. If a player updates their Minecraft username it's possible that we've fetched their new name automatically and as such commands such as /gift ... and /player ... will be working with their new Minecraft username. If you try using their new username then hopefully those commands will work.

I will look into the feasibility of resolving this though, because I understand it might be a tad confusing/annoying to have to look up their new name.

As others have said, we're still waiting to ensure stability of all of the different plugins we use. Unfortunately I don't make them all, and as such we have to rely on other people at the moment. There has been recent information about 1.14 potentially being released soon too, so it's likely if that's the case that we'll skip 1.13 and go straight to the latest version when we can. I am still aware we're quite behind, and will look to update as soon as it's possible.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt on Noobstown is now under way!

Over the next few weeks, when you're on the server, a message will randomly appear in chat when an Easter Egg (or other Easter related thing) spawns near you. You then have several minutes to run around and try to find the Easter Egg before it disappears. If you do find it, simply click it and you'll be given the Egg as a collectable head. Be on the look out too, because there might also be other Eggs around at random, even when you don't get the message.

This year different types of egg will spawn in different biomes throughout the worlds, so be sure to explore around if you want to collect them all. There are different types of eggs based on the biome it appears in. There are a total of 19 different things to collect (including 17 Eggs). If you manage to get all 19 from this year, keep hold of them and let me know (PM me or reply to this post); there's a bonus special prize for collecting them all! I'll leave exploring the different biomes up to you all, but if assistance is needed finding some of the different types then after a few days I'll post a list of which biomes each egg type spawns in.

It's also 2x mcMMO XP from now and throughout the rest of Easter weekend!
